    B-Series Engines

    Im sure this has been asked but im not finding it anyware. Ware have you gotten your engines from tha few good websites ive found ive been hearing bad things about tiger autoparts being one of them. Im hearing of peaple getting beat up motors not getting them for years and them not working once they get them. I know alot of you on this site have done b series swaps and im just needing to know ware you got tha engines. Thanx For tha help

    Mine came from craigslist. I was able to drive the car before it was pulled. Thats what id recommend

    My only problem with that is im trying to get a b18c from a gsr or type r and no ones ever parting them out.

    thats what mine is and I didnt look for even a week., keep an eye out and make sure you have cash ready to talk. Do your research and be sure you can identify whatever they may toss at you. theirs a big difference from a guy who knows every b seires engine by code and design vs some kid who tells you what it is because hes already been taken to the bank. I have a buddy who went to buy a low mielage b17. he didnt know the codes or signs and came home with an average well cleaned b18a. Its his own fault for not realizing they have codes for a reason.

    finding a good "used" gsr or type r is impossible, only thing you'll typically find for sale are either stolen motors or poor abused motors.

    if you're serious about the swap buy one with a warranty from hmotors. shipping isn't bad to you because you're on the west coast and steve @ hmo is a good dude.

    Also avoid Engine World in Emeryville, CA. Suckers sold me a rubbish engine and stole my deposit.

    i bought one and i had it a spun berring....at least take off the oil pan to see what you find in the bottom

    So it looks like im gunna buy from hmotorsonline.com. Thanx for tha help ive heard way to many horror storys about peaple buying shitty engines if im gunna spend that kind of money i wanna no its not a waste. thanx for that tip messy tha last thing i wanna do is try an better my car with a swap only to have it be worse off.
