    Question Cruise Control

Ok, well I searched it, and nothing. Well, I push the button on the dash, then the one on the steering wheel and it doesnt engage. Ive checked the vacuum lines, the fuse, and cable thing that goes to it. Im not sure where Im going wrong here. Everything seems to be there. Any help would be appreciated!

I had a problem with mine like that and it turned out to be the brake light switch not being pressed hard enough by the back of the pedal arm. I adjusted the brake light switch to be a little tighter and problem solved. Yours may or not be that easy.

does the light above the button come on? if not you may just need a new switch module.

If it is a clutch check the clutch switch plunger stop (Its a dime size rubber button that attaches to the clutch pedal) This was my problem. But change the brake one as well.

A 1/4" size bolt can work as well.

When I use my cruise control (about once in a blue moon), and it still functions, I am full of wonder and admiration for mother Honda. I doubt there's another car company on the planet (maybe Toyota or Subaru) that made a car in 1989 that still has a functioning cruise control 20 years later. Just amazing.

    Re: Cruise Control

Thanks guys, Ill check those, but the light above the switch on the dash does work, so im not sure its that, but the one in the instrument panel with the speedo and stuff does not switch on, so thats how I know its not engaging there.
I like hondas too, for economic purposes. But thats all. They are reliable too.

x2. It could be any of 50 things. We can sit here and speculate but at some point you'll just have to get in there and do the tests until you find out. The factory shop manual has great diagnostics. It is available here.

Let us know what you learn.
