    climate control switches not working

Anyone have their climate control buttons not work?

Mine seems to be stuck on vent. When I try to push heat or defrost I don't hear anything move/change like I use to. Seems to be every button so now on those frosty mornings I cannot defrost the windows. Anyone have a starting point to work from?

    thanks in advance

I think those work off vacuum actuators.might want to start there.

Rear window defogger working? If not check fuse #5 (10 amp) in the under dash fuse box, the heater controls/mode motor works off the same fuse.

My book shows two electric solenoids. If you can't hear either one then it may be a fuse.

pull the glovebox and look at the servo motor on the recirculate see if it's stuck too i have some switches if it turns out to be those, i don't need them as i like my lever controls.

had the same problem with my 89. digi buttons didn't work all the time.

Was going to pull the dash apart to get to the climate control board when I checked the fuse again. Not blown but noticed it wasn't very snug. Started the car and wiggled the fuse and the buttons lit up. sure enough the fuse wasn't making a good connection.

Tried to pinch the connectors in the fuse box, couldn't get it tight.

Then I got smart and gave the prongs on the fuse just the slightest twist and there it was I got a snug fit and all my buttons work again.

Check and see if that #5 fuse is nice and tight in the fuse box.

That fuse also cover some parts of the AC systems I think. Pull the schematic up and see what else is on that fuse. mines is loose also. I pull it when I drive in the mountains to run the cooling fans with out the AC coming on.

Bingo! Thanks Syclinsam, for your fix! That worked for my 1988 Accord.

I spent hours troubleshooting, reading the shop manuals, etc. Was just about to tear into the dash, to pull out the push button panel or take it to the Honda dealer.
You saved me a lot of wasted time and paying big $$$, for the dealer to troubleshoot.
