For that color I think straight polished would look best. You could get whichever wheels and just sand them back down. But of those choices, it would have to be black or gunmetal because none of those colors really complement it well.

Makes me miss my old coupe

I'd say gunmetal or gold but id personally lower the car first, and go with a 16" wheel.

Is this the same color? I found this a while ago and just found it again:

Whatever it is it looks pretty nice with polished wheels.

    Re: Which wheels???

hey that's Rob's car. Yeah that's the same. (I think. ..because if I'm not mistaken there were two burgundy's that were so close to one another, just one more purple than the other.).

As for colored wheels. ...apparently you're a HUGE fan of the GT3/DR-16.

The red (IMO) is the definite NO-NO. Red on a burgundy/maroon is going to look hanus. ...other heavily contrasting colors (blue, green, etc) are going to look just as bad.

The silver/polished/machined are going to be the most traditional and outlast any fads. The gunmetal/black/grey will also survive any fads very well (IMO) and look great.
To me, going out on a limb and doing gold might be the way I'd go for now.

As pointed out, you can always repaint them or swap them down the road when you get sick of them.

    Re: Which wheels???

so far i have seen alot of black, and gunmetal with possible the try of a the gold and/or Bronze.. I just posted all the colors up anyway however red will be a no jsut cuz it does clash with the car pretty bad. I like black however to me black from a distance looks like nothing.. I like to be able to tell its got rims just not flashy. Yes i will be going with a 16" rim and they wont be going on till after it gets dropped however the rim purchase and suspension will be at the same time so itll be when i get the wheels anyway. as for tire im going with a 205/45/16 since thats what i have noticed more on the 16x7rims..

only way you can see what looks good is photo chop and lower it to see what it would look like.

Sorry i actually meant gold in my post not bronze. The gold definitely looks cleaner and i would say would look best on your car besides maybe the polished plain look

yea i was thinking maybe gold. i mean eventually im going to repaint the car but it will be the factory color again, i dont like changing the oem colors and such.. i have gold rims on my 92 Accord and i really like the way they look but they dont have a polished lip also my 92 is rosewood brown so its still a different color. also I like the polished look only if its an oem wheel you know?.

I don't know about out there in Okie, but up here we can get Si's for about 300-350 with decent tires, fat-fives for about 150-250, and sunflowers (which EVERYONE is painting gold out here) for about 300-400. All nice cheap options that should look good on the coupe (maybe with the exception of the sunflowers).

Glad to hear you're considering keeping the oem color. It can look really good if the other mods are done right (ie. Rob's car).

(Dan, don't hate me for suggesting it), but the Rota J-Mags are available in gold, polished, machined, gunmetal, etc in 16's with a polished lip. I don't think that's the case for the GT3's though. ...oh and the jmags should look minty fresh on the 3G too.

Mark I would never hate you! Although I do think it might depend on what the dealer has in stock. These guys have the gt3's in silver its not exactly polished but might as well be lol although you are right for a sec i confused the gt3s for the track Rs which come polished but i did a little search and found the gt3s in silver on this site
