    Thumbs up Weight reduction

Has anyone out there done any types of weight reduction? Since my car is slow as balls i figured its a good way to make it a litle quiker b4 i possibly drop a supercharger. I have 1989 Accord LX-i sedan. Pic would be cool. I dont want to take apart my shit if its gonna look wierd. I already stripped the plastic from the trunk and painted it a nice white (the color of my car) It looks cool and with the back seat up, you cant even tell. Ill try to get some pics up in here once i get a scanner. Holla

A supercharger.......I would like to see that integrated into our setup. Weight reduction depends on how many features and how ugly you are willing to get with the car. You can get lighter rims and coilovers. You can also ditch depending on what you reallly need......power windows, power locks, front and back reinforcement bumpers, back seat, a/c system, p/s system, cruise control, replace windows with lexan, ditch the vents and blower system, glovebox, passenger seat, all carpet, rear seatbelts, hood, fenders, muffler, cat, heatshield, and it goes on and on
In the end...it doesn't even matter.

Get a carbon fiber hood! You can join in the group buy for them here: https://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6456

They weight half what your stock hood weighs, and look pretty tight, too.

I'm planning on taking the carpet out and stripping the rubber sound dampening from the floor with a heat gun. I understand that will take around 25 lbs out. 88turboaccord replaced the rear glass on his car with some kind of plexiglass, too - another great idea. Then, like jteuton said, remove everything you can do without - if it runs without it, then you don't need it!
