    too much fuel i think

I have a 86 carb 3g about few months ago I thought head gasket was blown due to all the white smoke being blown out of exhaust. Found out it was too much fuel so I had the carb rebuilt. About a few weeks ago it started hesitateing when I started it up. Blowing smoke out intill I reved it up to have it pass through. Last night it died in the way home after a few min trying to start it up started doing the white smoke again. Any ideas guys

Check your spark plugs - What color are they?

    Check the carb float level

    Check for vacuum leaks

Make sure your choke is opening

Try taking the lid off the air cleaner and see if it runs any better or worse, when cold and when the engine is hot.

White smoke could be coolant. Coolant can leak from right under where the carb sits on the intake manifold and leak into the engine that way.

    Do a compression check

Check coolant, Oil floats so you might be able to see if oil is in the coolant just by opening the cap and not need to drain.

Also keep tabs on the coolant level to see if it's going down faster then normal which could indicate a leak.
