Cross Memeber

Wondering how big of a task it is to replace a rear cross member on an '89 SE-i. I hear some leave the steering rack bolted on. Thoughts?

did you damage yours? if so, how? never heard of anyone needing to replace it before. but yes it is easier to leave the steering rack attached to it

I replaced one on an '86 Prelude which is about the same as our Accord. Support the engine and leave the rack on the cross member as recommended above and it's not too bad. If you're keeping your rack install it onto the cross member off of the car.
