quick question. dont know if this is the right bored but hear it goes. my 89 lx is aiming way to high when i hit the brights and it makes it really hard to say. is it hard to addjust them and where would the addjustment be located if it is the problem.
When the headlights are flipped up, there are two Phillips screws. One on the bottom to adjust up and down, the other is on one side of the housing to adjust left and right. I would recommend using a headlight leveler to make sure they're at the right spot, and even.
*Make sure you're adjusting the larger screws; the smaller ones near the larger ones are the ones that hold the actual light to the bucket.
what is a headlight leveler and how much and whear can i find one. also do i do the addjustments while the brights are on or the dims? the dims seem like they are at the right spot but the brights are to high. if i lower the brights will the dims be to low?
checked out the light today and just used a black peace of tape accrost the garage door in the dark and it worked perfect. i can see no but for some reason the lights still seem to make everything hazzy instead of being able to see everything good no matter how much i lower them. doesnt make any sense to me why it would blur your visio0n.
Try new headlights? I have Sylvania Silverstars, but I'm thinking about getting the Silverstar Ultras.
do you mean new bulbs or new headlights themselves because i dont think it has bulbes i think its the hole light and everything. and i am still trying to figure out how it even comes off

It's all one piece in these cars. The whole glass rectangle, with the bulb inside, comes out.
yes i have glasses they are just aiming to high or something its like one solid bright beam instead of the whole front of the car

just normal nighttime driving. no fog but it almost seems like it. and even with my didms on everyone flashes there brights at me but i adjusted thenm to the lowest setting and they still seem to high. anyone know if there is a good projection conversion kit and how hard it would be to install?
It sounds like your headlights are way too high on low beams. When you hit the highs it stops putting any light on the road and the only thing that lights up is the dust and smog in the air. Does this sound right? Do you know if the car has been in a wreck that might have tweaked the headlight cages such that you can't adjust them properly anymore?

Time to invest some money in good lights. Go on the internet and buy a set of Hella replacements. They take a separate bulb, and you should buy a good one, either a PIAA or the Silverstar Sylvania. The replacements are not hard to install. They come with an aiming guide. Set yourself up according to the instructions and you'll be fine. The Hellas have a very sharply defined beam, so it's easy to aim them. I actually have mine set up a little bit, which makes it easier to see ahead. About once every couple of weeks I get a flash from the oncoming traffic, but it happens so infrequently I feel it's ok.
Having good lights is one of the best things you can do for yourself. You don't need to spend 60 bucks for the PIAA bulbs, although they are nice, and last longer than the Syvania's.

no it hasent been in a crash or anything the body is kindof rusty but thats about it. and that does sound like whats happening. if i could get some extra cash i would love to get some hellas do they bolt right up like the old ones and does the plug from the oem miring plug right into the bulb for it?
i dont know enough german to understand anything on that site that sucks cause i really want to buy them
My car had the old warner sealed beams, which had a slight almost yellowish tint. So I bought the Sylvania Silverstars H6054ST. And what a difference. Very clear white light, works very well. You can get them at any auto parts.

Agreed. You can also get the Ultras, which are brighter and whiter, but they don't last very long (maybe 4-6 months, depending on usage).

Nobody will buy them used for $35 because they don't even last that long and a new pair is $40 from Schuck's.

i dont really drive at night mostly day time but maybe on and off like 3 times and i use the civic for night time driving but hey if not 25 for the pair i dont want extra lights laying around collecting dust lol or you tell me a good offer
