It's gonna have my A3 with the A1 intake and Weber in it, so all the vacuums are gonna be gone. Unlike the CRX, everything I did tonight is completely reversable... At this time... All the plastic wire brackets are in 1 piece (reusable... ) and ALL the vacuum lines are un-cut. lol

Next time I work on it, I'll take the bumper and drivers fender off so I can really get after it! I might try to paint the bumper at the same time.

I might just run my battery by my subs with a sealed battery box with a vent-tube, but it's gonna take a lot of weight from the front and put it in the back, which is the last thing I want to do, but I'll either be the fastest or the loudest, so I might just put the battery in the back...

That means I'll need a shut-off switch for the battery accessable from the rear if I want to race this summer.... Damn it.

It's the original paint, never had a front-end collision (from what I can tell), and it will look increadible when I get to wash it. Sooooo no black. haha

Oh no! What have I gotten myself into?!

It's cool... I got a lot of patience with wiring.

Here's that brand new carb I was talking about... Under all that wiring.

Re: Bass Man's got a HATCH!

I'm really impressed at how easy the bumper comes off. Take the turn-signals out and there's 4 screws, then 2 at the bottom and it's off! I wish I would have known that last night! Took me 30 minutes to get the fender off...

After all this work to clean up the engine bay, I think I might just take the power steering setup out.

I need them to be a little more organized!! lol... Those 2 big-ass relay looking things right next to the radiator fan are what I need to know.

Nothing like having 50+ wires unwrapped. heh

Freakin' sweet! Speaking of pop-up relays, I might just go ahead and wire up some sleepy-eye's. That would be cool.

I wish there was one of those for the whole engine compartment! All I need for my setup is the alternator and starter.

tell me what you need i have all the pop up light wiring diagrams etc. I don't see a way to do sleepy eyes, unless you rig a limit switch halfway up and some relay circuits to change that to the default limit switches. there are two limit switches per light motor, one for up and one for down. you would interupt the up limit switch with a double pole double throw relay, if the relay has power it closes and changes the limit switch to the one you added and it goes into downs syndrome mode.

Re: Bass Man's got a HATCH!

I was having a though as I was removing all this stuff... I sure am removing a lot of weight in the front, and adding a LOT of weight in the back... Think I might keep the fuse panel and battery in the front, but I might make a bracket that will go on the firewall instead of the funky place it was... Well... Maybe... The paint is gone and it's a little rusted under the old tray, so I might just put it back where it was. It's gonna look a lot better than it did, but I'll know there is a lot of extra wires taken out of there.
