Talked to him a bout 5 hours ago. Said it was a black 4 door, and it would run when the kid sprayed starting fluid, but it died right after. Said he didn't know much about cars (or anything for that matter) and it could be a fuse, fuel pump, something like that. I hope it's got a black dash and nice seats!

You can't turbo a carb too easy, upgrading the intake manifold is probably cheaper than upgrading to a 38/38 or dual's. I think this little 32/36 isn't gonna be enough carb in a while.

    It's grey with black accents...

They are both in rough shape and the LX-i has 277k miles on it, so I wasn't even that interested in getting into it. The other one is a maroon (with maroon interior, damn it) LX, and I heard it run, but either something big broke in the tranny, or the axle popped out of the tranny.

I'm debating tearing all the stuff out of the LX-i and scrapping the intake, cuz I have the intake some the 108k mile 88 LX-i long block that was in my sedan.

Grandma and the parents really out-did theirselves this year!! I got a helluva nice looking table saw and today, my dad took me to Shucks to pick up my new air compressor... Man!

I can do some seriously nice work, now. My last box (in my sedan) was nice for just a Skill saw and a "straight" piece of cut wood, but now I can get clean looking cuts and build a box twice as fast. Gonna kinda advertise the service.

Edit: I didn't want to make another post.
I spent about 5 hours researching the best box for this car, and I think what I'm gonna end up with, is a twin-port ported box, Subs up, port back. Trying to keep it simple so I'm not guessing.

Re: Bass Man's got a HATCH!

I'm back rolling into this thing... I scuffed up the clutch components and my T/O bearing came in, and right before I was gonna install the flywheel, I thought all the oil on the block inside the bell housing wasn't all from the lack of a bottom bolt on the dizzy, rather, a bad main seal. My parts house had one in stock, so I bought it so I didn't have to worry about it for a long while...

I should have the tranny on the motor tomorrow, then it's a little more scrubbing before I drop it in.

Broke an axle in my Sidekick early today, so I think I'll drop a motor in my Hatch.

Just a head's up. Might have it running by tomorrow.

Condensation makes the blue look different with flash. It's a darker kind of blue.

Motor is finally sitting in the hatch!

Good eye! I hope it doesn't matter if there is more taken off in some areas than others. It took me an hour with a grinder trying to figure out the best way to cut it. I think the easiest way for me, since I don't have a receprical (SP?) saw, is that I cut off as close to the main pulley and ground the rest flat.

The paint should be the same color as the valve color (in the second pic), and I only painted certain things. The upper motor/tranny mount is black, but not pictured is the dog-bone, which is blue. Trying not to have too much rice going on.

OH, MARK! "Parts will be there Tuesday".

I wish I was as fast as it looks. It's taken me 2 weeks to get the motor and tranny cleaned and swagged... Damn that Guitar Hero... I'm getting good with the drums, though!

Yesterday, I had a buddy looking for a coil/ignitor for an 88, and I had one. We went up to where the 3g was and replaced the coil, and all we got was a spark and then nothing, so I took the oil cap out and told the guy to crank and the rocker wasn't moving! Damn it (for him), I think I got a job sometime soon. I had my engine replaced in a weekend (8 hours work, about), but I tried cleaning it up pretty good, as well.

Unless I can find some interior pieces, the exterior and engine bay will be the only good thing about this car. And my insane DB'zzz!!1

I came inside to get my Laptop, cuz I'm trying to rewire the engine bay right now and I forgot how everything is supposed to go. I'll have everything wire tonight if I can help it. I need to grab my soldering stuff too.

That little jobby job should be some nice cash flow coming in.

Its too bad about the interior. I found a Phoenix red hatch here locally, with the black interior in great shape. I wonder if the hatch interior will fit in the coupe. would you know about this bass?

And dang atleast you were in no hurry to get the engine in there.

The door panels, dash, and center console fit for sure. Seats are different between the 3g and 3.5g's, though. I just wish I could find blue interior.

The guy can't really afford anything and it's for his son, so I think I'll just charge him $5-600 and I supply the parts. It's A/T, too, and I couldn't figure out how to diconnect the cable from the tranny in my hatch, so I cut it with a grinder... haha!

Thanks for that bro. Whats the 3.5gee? LX-i and SE-i?

I could find you some mint blue interior parts here in AZ. Ive seen plenty of them in the yards. I can grab the best pieces from various cars and ship them out to you. I think shipping could get pricey but it might be worth it to you? I wont charge you anything except what they cost me and Maybe a 24 pack of Coronas or 30 pack of Tecate when I go to the Pacific Coast Big Meat Event. lol

And what tranny cable are you talking about? the speedo cable/clutch cable?

and yeh man $500-600 is a great deal for that guy. its the cheapest he will find most likely. but you should still give him some quality work.

Re: Bass Man's got a HATCH!

    Update from my garage! lol
I got the wiring set; I just need a lighter to shrink the shrink tube and lay the split loom on and it's done.
Edit: Remembered I have a propane torch in here.

Right now, I really need the upper cushions of all 4 seats, door panels, and a dash.
3.5g is 88-89... lol The brackets are different on the seats, I've heard.

Cable I'm talking about is the shifter cable for the old Auto tranny that was in the hatch.

I can afford the pieces at a junkyard, but I can't find any around here. Plus, I can't legally buy you beer till next December. :P

I'll make a new post for the exterior, cuz this laptop crashes in the middle of typing.
