Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

    lol foreign language ftw! haha

pretty much told rendon that i hope to one day have the most wanted 3g on the forum and that im going for the fastest pssible A20 rather than doing a swap. and that i dont want to do a b series swap cuz then my car will have the same engine as just about everyone elses.

I wantt to be able to surprise people by saying i have a single cam over there dual cam and can still smash on them lol

Fastest possible a20? Might as well quit now lol.

You will be $10k into it before you know what's up

Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

hey man dont try and shoot me down. I have no timeline and with no timeline comes no budget. i have alot off respect for veterans on this site but you can take your negativity somewhere else. ive noticed you say things to people about them wanting to do b swaps and h swaps and have stayed out of the arguments. but i dont want to do any ridiculous swap

i am well aware of how expensive everything is going to be and how hard its going to get but im up for the challenge.

btw have fun with your 240

    thanks,

I'm not telling you it's better to buy a newer or better car, or your car is not worth modding, but you should temper your hopes with some realism (zomg I can understand what you wrote!).

I don't tell anyone to do shit to their car, I am wholly realistic/logical when it comes to these cars.

Josh, I see you haven't given him any reality chat

give it time, i have plenty of it. and like a fore mentioned i have goals for the car. whether they be realistic or not is really up to me and what I make of the opportunities ahead. I really hope to one day prove to you that only because your reality is limited mine is not. I would appreciate it if you could no longer post in my thread. thanks

You realize he's been under these cars for at least 9 years. In the 2 years I've been on here, I've seen at least 7-8 people saying similar things you are, but I think I've only seen 1 or 2 have done... anything... they said they would. If your budget and resources are that vast, then we shall see one hell of a car.

What he is saying, is these motors can't really put out more than 180hp N/A, and that's getting far into the "unreliable" stage. You can get a lot more power from turbo, but again, it's getting unreliable unless you completely rebuild your engine with the BEST stuff you find, which is work on it's own, and when you're done, you're into it a good 3.5-4g's, and after you got that reliable 250-275hp, you still got 20 y/o suspension that would need serious rebuilding so you can use all that nice power.

BUT! If you want the most power out of your 3g, you gotta listen to the veterans.

Look into some upgrade intake manifolds for a quick, but nice gain. MessyAccord had a thread somewhere, I'll find it.

yeah i realize that bass. and he probably knows a hell of alot more than i do right now i dont deny that. but you know bass being that im mexican alot of people have always tried to shoot me down. alot of people always told me that i wasnt capable of doing anything after high school. (not because im not smart but simply because the percentage of mexicans that have a post high school education is so low) but look at me right out of high school i began going to college at Arizona State. Im in my sophomore year now and im rocking it.

Im not saying that he is trying to put me down because im mexican but i am saying that anything is possible. and who is to say that i wont have the same knowledge one day that he currently has. i really do enjoy when i am given a challenge and yes this car is going to be a challenge but nothing is impossible in life. i'm excited for what the project has to offer and i hope you guys stay tuned for it. especially you alex whether it takes me 1,2, or 20 years. i promise you it will be done!

ive been talking to alot of vets thats the thing bass. there are alot of nice people on here that are willing to help out. but when your first impression of a person is an insult well thats their opinion. and for all i care they can keep it to themselves.

I know ill need a serious engine rebuild and suspension rebuild. these are all things that im going to work on.... and im aware of the power restrictions. thats why i said the fastest possible A20 not 3gee. im surethere will be guys faster than me with their b18s and b20s 3gees but i want to keep it with its original motor and suck every last pony out of it that i can.

I said it before, a mile starts with a foot. I don't have an income (or any other tuners around here), or my goals would be up there with the rest of them... Exhaust the little things that are inexpencive and have fun with your car untill you can afford a big thing all at once.
We're building a Suzuki G16A for my dad's Samurai and the block has been sitting in the garage with plastic wrap around it for almost a year.. We'll be in it $6-700 when it's done, but I don't really have the time to piece it together right now.

Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

just to give you an idea of my current financial status. I have no bills to pay, i have a cell phone and its only 50 a month for that, i live at school during the week, and with my parents on the weekends. school is payed for 100% i dont have to pay a dollar out of pocket for tuition, books, or housing, and food. not a single $1. in january I will be getting between $5,500 and $6,500 in extra money for myself from scholarships that i have qualified for. all of this money will be going to my car.

    here is my current timeline:

winter break will be well spent putting together a very long list of parts to purchase very soon.

january will be spent in school, purchasing the list of parts, and waiting for them to be delivered.

february will be spent dedicated to school completely

march will be spent in school, spring break will be spent with endless days and nights and i mean endless working on my car and installing/ all the new parts and modifying those that have to be modified to fit.

    april will be school

and from may until the Medford meet its going to be 100% car.

so you guys will see an enormous transformation from here until july.

I was gonna suggest the OBD1 swap, but I forgot about it. I don't know how well that will do for turbo unless you get bigger injectors or something like that. I'm an N/A guy myself (gotta be... I got a carb.. heh) so I don't know MUCH about turbo setups. I want to do Propane turbo. 110 octane @ $2 a gallon, and not much for HP loss. Plus an $800 tax credit.

whoa sounds sick! how much research have you been doing for that? and how much work would you need to put in?

Re: Just a little update on the LX-i

I dont know how much money has been spent on the car in the last 5-6 years. More than I care to remember. And lots of it was 'free'. There is EASILY 10k in to the car (probably more like 15), but as modded cars go it's certainly not worth 10-15k.

I have built the car specifically to still be street legal. it has all the luxuries, including reverse lights, headlights (manually cranked), and turn signals.

PS this car is still not turbocharged, and hardly gets driven cause its such a PITA. But if/when i finish the build it will be a 300+ whp tractionless whore.
