    New to Hondas, from WA

Hey, I'm from WA state and I just got a 1988 Honda Accord Coupe. 208k miles. It's a bit of a fixer upper since it was totalled, rebuilt, totalled again, and rebuilt again. All the damage was done to the driver side and it needs a wheel bearing, a suspension alignment, and possibly new suspension components. And over time, the radiator has developed a small leak in the top. the car doesn't overheat, but it makes a small sprinkler of coolant once the engine warms up. The interior is in awesome shape, tho. It has a CD player with decent sound quality. The best part of the whole thing? The car was absolutely FREE! I got it from a long-lost family member.

My first impressions when I drove it were focused on the damage in the suspension and the effects it had on driving (the alignment was never touched after the second wreck). It pulls to the left and it's harder to turn right than it is to turn left. Plus, it eats up driver side tires. But once I got used to all of it's little quirks, it was pretty nice. I drove a turbo'd subaru GL before this and I forgot how nice it is when you don't have to wait for turbo lag. The little inline 4 is a lot peppier than I had imagined.

Pics will come when I can get a hold of a camera. At the moment, I lost my camera and my fiance's camera isn't working.

Cool congrats on the car. We are having a meet and greet at the lake city dicks next saturday. If you have time stop by and show off your car, meet some members and have some good food

What color is your coupe? It would be awesome to have a third one there! By the way; where is Maple Falls?

Edit: Woah, that's way the fuck up north.

Mine's white with plenty of rust around the edges of the damaged body panels. lol

Can't promise, but pics will probably be up tomorrow. And yeah, maple falls is waaaaaaay up north. It's 55 minutes to work in Bellingham. Not bad unless you frequently work the 4am-Noon shift like i do.

Shit, that's a long ways away for me. idk if i can make it. Maybe if it were closer to Marysville or somewhere there, but not that far south. I'll try and get in on the next meet.

I used to live in B-ham, right by the college in Fairhaven. I know right where maple falls is. Welcome to the forums, congrats on your new 3G, and hope you can make it to the meet!

Re: New to Hondas, from WA

After doing some thinking (and coming upon money from selling the GL), I am prepping the Accord for a trip down to Seattle this weekend. I have the gas money and I have some safe tires. I just hope the suspension will be ok. Do we have an official thread for the meet? I can't seem to find one; I must just be blind to it or something.

I have a pretty good feeling that it'll be ok, but I will definitely get underneath it and give it a good once over before that
