Well I was going to use the water For the Inside of the valve Head, Its got some paint dust inside from the sanding, I was just asking if using water would hurt it if I let it dry before I put it back into the Car.

Kinda like a bucket or maybe a Bathtub filled with water, Place it in and let it soak for a little while, Then take it out and clean it up a bit.

I agree wear gloves since it burns when it contacts your skin.....W/e paint remover works but Me and my bro use Tri-strip.....was the best bang for the buck...i just sparyed a heavy coat.....used a old toothbursh and scurbed away....WHy a toothbursh since it gets all the cracks and spots that are hard to get and it dont take much.....once done use your hose to rise the crap off....most of the time you get lucky the first try and then all you have to do is polish....All those deep scratch marks kinda takes away the polish look. .....Just look at my SIG PIC

Tri strip is the brand my buddy was using also and it was pretty cheap. its just a spray can but is more than enough to get off the rest of the paint left on the valve cover. and yes a tooth brush will work just fine. or a heavy duty plastic brush from he dollar store or whatever. as long as you can use it to get between the letters and something like a putty knife to get inbetween the cam gear slit. then rinse off with water hose.

Okay, I put the fuel pump back in, cleaned the filter up a bit, *also ordered a new one for a temp.* as well I'll be picking up a new tank, Fuel pump, Fuel pressure regulator, and new battery. Since Mine is practicly shot as well.

Also I added brake fluid and it fixed that issue.

As well I got the throttle body to stop whistling, if you wanna know how to do it, there's a screw on the throttle body right at the intake entrance, loosen it to where it comes farther out, It will stop the whistling. Thanks BTW to 3gmodifier for the help on this. *BTW I'm still fixing the car so I'm going to be re-adjusting this later.*

    January 4th 2010 Update.

So today I finally got around to fixing my new alternators problem. After a couple of posts here and there, and finally taking the bloody thing off Found out it was a issue with the Ground plug connected to it instead...

For those who hadn't seen the pictures in the technical thread here they are.

After some help and following the line, Found the source and completely replaced it.

I rigged it up to where it could work right.

Also picked up some new Terminals. Already replaced the positive. since it was trashed so bad it wouldn't looses right.

*Cheap as hell little things. :P*

And Last I cleaned my headlights. And damn did it make a difference.

As well here is a quick video oh her running after Fixing the wiring issue.

I'll have some pictures tomorrow of the new wire in place, along with my new valve cover ground wire.

That's really it for today, Not much since its a off week from the paycheck.

I think it arched a couple times and then finally got to hot and snapped. I followed some of the cable and there where burn marks and a lot of the sleeve cover had been rubbed off from friction with something.

But I took her out for a run and she did great, except over 4500 In any gear her light would turn on, so tomorrow I'm going to check the current.

Also found out that one of my spark plugs was not all the way in and that somewhat fixed the issue of 4th and 5th having no power.

if the light is going off its the alternator so maybe you should just replace it.

Well I can't afford to replace it, I had it tested today and it came up good. But I don't know enough about those things to really know if something else could be going on.

No I completely replaced it. I do however need to cut open the old cable group and pull the old line since its no longer being used.

I'll probably buy some cable clean up stuff and make it a little neater.

Thats a pretty intence job. They are taped over the loom, under the loom in places and everything is dry and brittle.. I wouldnt expect it to go back together without a few trip to a junkyard for replacement brackets or grommets. Id definatly remove it from the car if it were me.

    Yea I forgot to ask.

hang on, let me change that statement just a bit....

    SELL IT TO ME
    There, much better now.

No seriously though, very nice job on getting this thing back to it's former glory. IMO, I'd rather not spend the $$ on new wheels just yet and instead just keep doing what you're doing to get it looking great. That interior still desperately needs some attention, as does the paint. Along with that, a nice steam cleaning or simple green or purple power of the engine bay and you're well on your way.

That photo taking session (I can't say "photoshoot" without being flamed again) would have been 2341892374120389470129384 times better with the headlights down.
