high and weird idle
My girlfriend has an 87 lxi that has a very high idle in the morning and anytime after that the idle does not seem to want to drop below 1000 rpm. and on top of that during its warm up if you push on the fuel pedal it will idle up and dow rapidly until it has warmed up. can someone please give me a clue as to what is going on?
Does any one know what this could possibly be? there are no codes on the ecu. so i'm kinda at a stand still here. oh and it only has 107,000 miles.

The problem could be comming from the Fast Idle Valve (round thing behind the Throttlebody)
Try to clean it with TB cleaner.

I'll try that, i did most of the normal stuff, looking for vaccum lines and stuff like that, but there is still the issue of revs going up and down while warming up once warmed up idle is at a constant high??

hook up a vacuum gauge to the manifold and also check that fast idle valve, that should tell you whee the problem lies

did anyone mess with the throttle cable tension? if they did, change it back. It cant be too tight like the carbs.
