1989 Accord LX project.

Here is the 3G that I bought for $100. It's a 5 speed, carb'd and has power windows, locks, mirrors, antenna, AC, cruise etc etc Needs some work done, such as:

New clutch
New valve cover gasket
Control arm/ball joint
Half shaft
Brake Master Cylinder

The interior is nasty. The previous owners were smokers and ate tons of fast food, so there's ashes and spilled soda every where. I picked up all the major trash already but since the brakes are out, I can't really drive to a car wash to give it a good vacuuming. There's no rips or tears in the interior, just really dusty and ashy and dirty. A good cleaning by hand should do wonders.

Yep, started up first try yesterday in single digit weather and after a night of snow. The one spot of rust doesn't look bad, but the big one I'm not sure how pheasible it is to repair it.

I would like to sell it and my Mustang and find a decent 3G in white with a 5 speed. I see them alot around my area for sale, but always ugly colors and with autos.

get an lx-i in white and 4 dr

yeah if i were you ill get a FI you can to more mods on it than a carb

I might just fix the stuff above myself (except clutch) and then daily it till I find a white LX-i in decent shape. Then sell this one and the Mustang.

I used a white LX-i 5spd as a donor car to swap my DX to FI. Now it's just a parts car, but it ran when I bought just had a knock.

I just don't wanna go through all the work of changing it to fuel injection. Only hard part is gonna be finding an LX-i in a 5 speed. Most people around here with them can't even drive a 5 speed.

I posted an ad on craiglist looking for an 86-89 nonrunning FI 5spd Accord and a guy emailed me in like 5 days with the one I bought and I paid $200 for it, but it was running and everything worked.

Man, that's a nice find for that price sucks about the rust though.

If I keep it I'll see how much a body shop would want to repair the rust. The rest of the body stuff I can go and get from the junk yard.
