Well I checked my plug wires last night they seem to be fine. But I'll give them another look over once she cools down.
I was thinking it could be the spark plugs. ^.^ since when I bought the car the last owner handed me a rag with 8 new spark plugs. >:O but my buddys who towed me home left them in there truck and that's sitting 40 miles away. so I currently don't have a way to check.
Well, Went to go pull the plugs..........
And this happened. :O
What the hell happen?
Well good chance those wires were fucked anyways. I'd buy a new set and new plugs. New plugs are only about a buck a piece for the proper NGKs.
sad part is she sounds the same without it. so i guess i found my problem.
LOL...wires tend to look good but yet have a bad core.
200+ ALL MOTOR LS VTEC
yeah defiantly running on 3 cylinders or 2... thats how my 3g sounded for ages LOL
Get some NGK Vpower plugs and some NGK wires and you should be set!
1988 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe 123k miles.
when do you need the wires? i have a set in good shape I pulled off my car, with the new wire holders they weren't long enough. They are the expensive belkin set from nappa, they fit and look like factory.
i dont need em yet. she still gets to 60, but next check i will along with a new tank.
If it turns out it's not your plugs, wires, or cap, I would say check the cam timing and valve lash next, since those things when off can cause the car to run weird.

OP: Haven't you made a couple thrads about this same thing already?
Actually I've Made a couple threads about different things. But the only other one this could possibly even fit in would be the one that's with 4th and 5th having no power. But at the same Time, I have found out there was more wrong with this car in this thread.
:P seeing as how much stuff is wrong with this.
You do know, This car has been completely screwed up since I bought it.
I'm not made of money, I have to work, and that means I have to drive this car. I can only replace so much at any given time.
Not like I have much of a choice.
Anyways. I can't pick anything up till next check. So yea. Doesn't make much difference now.
:P Thanks for the help and...........I better check that now as well.
*actually Maybe I could hit up one of the junk yards. They may have a couple parts I can "scavenge."*

wow, my car is complete shit, too, and i wouldn't run it on 3 cylinders for anything longer than say, oh... half an hour. spark plugs are cheap, dude, spend $5, get 4 cheap ones, and get the cheapest plug wires you can find.
IF you have to drive it without that cylinder fireing unplug the fuel injector to that cylinder, Thats what i did when i drove mine around as a 2cylinder for a month lol
1988 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe 123k miles.
I don't drive it more then 15 miles a day *like 10 minutes both way with 3+ hours in between both runs*.
I will attempt to get what I can tomorrow.
Its more then likely to late. This issue has been going on for what....a week now. Its just none of use really knew what the issue was until tonight.
So like I said it makes no difference now. But At least if I get the stuff tomorrow I can stop any thing else from going wrong.
if you can't get the parts tomorrow, at least unplug the fuel injector. that keeps one less problem from getting worse. keep in mind that your accord's motor was set up and balanced for 4 cylinders firing, not 3 cylinders and a dead weight.
I had a bad wire end do that to me. The car felt like it was shifting a bit off ( automatic). Checked things out. found that bad wire. So got a new Bosch set (they are what I prefer on this car), and all was great again. I was glad it wasn't the tranny. You get a set of wires when you can, and you should get good results. I know you are tight right now, but ideally, get new cap, rotor, plugs and wires. When you can afford to, you will be glad you did.
