Pfft.
lol my car sputter cause i forgot to put the forth cable back in lol but no damage done to the engine thank god
As I posted in the build thread.
I replaced my Spark plugs today. as well have replaced the spark plug wires.
Still having the issue with cylinder 1 not firing, Plugged in or unplugged she runs the same...
The old plug for Cylinder 1 had burnt oil on it. So not so great news there.
I'm going to continue with my distributor cap check. and I really hope its that. If not. she just got a whole lot more fun...
I would unplug #1 spark plug wire, attach a piece of metal that protrudes outside of the rubber isolation and with it close to the engine I would start it; you should see the spark hitting the engine from the spark plug wire... you may have probably done that but just in case.
If it ain't broke... I fix it!
Here is a cheap helpful little tool to see if you are getting spark to a cylinder. You hook it up inline to the plug, and if the light flashes then you know you are getting spark to the cylinder. Little Harbor Freight cheapie, but effective for its purpose.http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=97577
Well I had one of those tools hidden in my friends garage, *under his nova* I went out to test it today...and I can say that all the plugs work. >.> especially since 2 of them shocked me...
So I guess I move up the chain now, to the fuel injector?
What else could this be. since I have the next 2 days off, I want to get some work done.
Okay I just re-read the thread. I guess I should check my timing as well.
:P gawd she is a lot of work...
if all 4 spark and your petrol was nasty im betting 1 of the injectors got cloged up >< , try going to the junkyard and pocketing a set of injectors

replace your cap, if one isn't firing you could have carbon tracking on from of the wire terminals to ground, they are cheap and you probably need one anyway.
Didnt i tell you a week ago it was your injector. Your timings fine. It runs like shit becuiuase its missing 90 degrees of rotation in the cycle and its draging a piston around. Swap out the injector with a known good one and itll work just fine again.
You might not have compression on that cylinder. You need to do a compression test on it and see what you got before you start buying more stuff for it.
If your feeling frisky(since your the cheap labor) change the injectors with one thats firing but I would do the compression test first. Buy a cheap one or rent one from an auto parts place.

Got the compression tester. *thanks to a good friend* he also lent me a tool to test my wiring on the fuel injectors. I'll post my results soon.
I found this unbolted under the belts.
Its like the locking bolt for the alternator..*the one that holds it in place to make it swivel*
What is it for?
I'll be posting this in my build thread as well.

Hey guys, I have tried the compression test. But no matter what I do *following all of the steps* all cylinders come up at zero....
Any ideas why it could be doing this?

NVM, I feel like a total dumbass, I figured out what I had done wrong. TT_TT
The bolt is to hold the PS pump.

BTW I have my test in.
<---Presure--->
|---Cylinder 4---|---Cylinder 3---|---Cylinder 2---|---Cylinder 1---|-Cable-ft/Cranks-|
----115 pounds------115 pounds-----115 pounds------125 pounds---3ft cable/7 cranks
----100 pounds------102 pounds-----100 pounds------115 pounds---3ft cable/5 cranks
----175 pounds------175 pounds-----175 pounds------190 pounds---1ft cable/7 cranks
so it would seem that the 1 is higher in every occasion.
What to do now?
