Alright guys you all know I have a coupe. I was wondering if I could fit DX hatch moldings (the solid flush looking ones) on to my coupe to replace the layered looking ones?
ill post pictures of my moldings if need be.

Yeah they will fit i have plans to do that to my coupe as well but 88LXI68 just put his on this past summer.
wow never thought of this before. great idea. I bet body color to match would look great.
Is the trim piece that goes from the back of the door to the rear wheel the same length? That's the only concern I've had. I want to do it, too. Streamline...
Yes, same length on coupes and hatch.
Once you do that the bumper moldings won't match amynore with the side moldings.
Kinda ugly IMO.

Thanks guys I just needed some coonfirmation. And yeah That was the only peice I was concerned about as well charlie. looks like they will fir and look way cleaner than the ridges.
Well this wont be a problem for me because I downgraded to a prefacelift bumper that doesn't have moldings :P i think i might be the only coupe with the prefacelift front bumper. lol

personally I like the look fo the 86-87 front bumper but filling in the viod so its a smooth transition like b20aturbo (versnick car) has. Very clean. Not sure about the rear though.
Are there any pictures around of a coupe with pre-facelift trim? How would it not match the bumpers?

Does anyone have the same angle picture of a sedan with flat moldings?
Stop making me drool Carotman. Your car is too damn nice!![]()
Do you know what I just noticed? The coupe doesn't have the indents on the rear bumper like the sedan. It's smooth like the front bumpers. It will match better than the edged ones!
Charlie the coupe and sedan have identical trim peices all around including bumpers if they came in facelift form.
And yeah carotman my rear bnumper wouldnt match but it is not a big deal. i personally dont mind it. I have majority prefacelift parts now anyways.

I think the flat trim would look just fine, because both rear bumpers I see above don't have any type of edge like the facelift trim.
Yeah but most people have the upper and lower portion of the bumpers painted so it doesn't match up anyway. I have wanted to swap moldings for a long time as i was fond of how Justins hatch looked with painted moldings.
They have an edge, its just not as noticeable because its not all the same color, unlike carots car.
carot has the prefacelift rear bumper right?
