Check with DBMaster. He rebuilt his dizzie and used different springs. He was just trying to keep it running though, not necessary change the performance. He'd have some good insight either way.

Well, I actually used the springs that the rebuilder had put in. I was on my third rebuilt unit so I decided to tear my original apart and use parts from both to build the one I finally had work correctly. I only used it a few months before finding one on eBay that was brand new in the Honda box. It was a very rare find indeed. Someone else on here mentioned getting one of those Mr. Gasket advance curve kits and finding some springs that appeared to be close to the same as the originals. Honestly, I doubt that changing the spring tension will make much difference. These distributors get the majority of their advance from the vacuum unit. My best advice is if you need to rebuild try to do it yourself rather than buying from a rebuilder.
