88 lx probs

i have a 88 lx 5 speed with 270K miles. its starting to act up on me. The car will start up then run at about 2500 rpms for about 5 min then run normal. 50% of the time when i start the car it will leave a blue cloud of smoke. Almost smells like its oil and fuel. The car just recently started using oil not much but enough. The car also went from getting about 350 miles out of a tank to about 230-240 miles. Any suggestions on what to do or what the prob is? thanks

check compression.


Also check PCV Valve, see if oil is in air filter box, see if oil is leaking from valve cover.

But most likely oil is entering the cylinders and that's where your loss is from.
