    SH4D0W's 86 LX-i Sedan Auto-X "Project Little Red"

This is going to be epic. I want to build an Auto-X monster out of my old 3G.

Right now, "Little Red" is sitting in my driveway, and an A20 is sitting in my garage just waiting to be rebuilt.

I'll take better pics of the front end as I go - that is a panorama created by my camera since it was a hard shot to get all in one..

I'm thinking this will be the best way for me to learn - actual hands-on learning.

It's not going to be easy, its not going to be cheap, but its going to be worth it.

1 thing it will need is a 5 speed swap. I'm sure I can search and find a good write up to follow, and I'll take and post pics as I go.

lol yea... the car is fine except the headlights are toast, and the front fenders are a bit smashed on the tops. And the part that holds the hood down.

    here's those 2 images unstiched.

I'll see about some better pix when I get off work in the morning.

So, I've remembered something. Something very important when considering building an uber-car. Something I should have thought of sooner, but got all excited.

I suck at working on cars.

On the upside tho, I've got a basicly clean slate to start with.

Common mine was just as bad as that when I got it... Maybe worse! You can do it! Heck you might even finish your uber-car before I do

Do it so I have another uber-car to compare mine with.

Thanks for the reassurances. My wife LOVES this car. Much more then SH4D0W. It is breaking her heart to see it in the driveway all fubar.

LOL Funny story I just remembered about why the drivers door is off. When we first got SH4D0W his drivers lock was not working. Insted of buying a new one, we just where goin to use the one out of Lil Red. So, I'm at work and I get a call from the shop that they need that little part. Just the part your key goes in. They said bring in the whole handle if need-be. Well, I called Sascha (My wife) and told her what they needed. She's like " No prob, I'll take care of it. So, the next morning I go in to the shop after work to see how its going. The guy comes out, talks to me for a bit, and says
"You can have the door back." Im like " u mean the door' - why's the door off in the first place?"

He procededs to recount the jaw-dropping spectacle from the previous afternoon. Aparently my wife didn't feel like bothering with takingthe handle out of the door. Not overly suprising, but she said she would take care of it... Anyway, she and her Uncle go out to Lil Red and procede to remove the 4 bolts that hold the door on its hinges. Then they cut all the wires running into the door in one smooth bundle, and loaded the door into the van for its trip to the shop.

Now picture this. You work in this shop. You are expecting to have a customer arrive with a small little piece. So the customer arrives. And carrys into the shop the front drivers door of a 1986 Accord. Jaws dropped as my wife and her 67 year old uncle carry in this door. I can only imagine, but everyone got a good laugh.

    -=-

So, my immediate plans for this car involve tearing the engine down with my Dad when he and Mom come down for Thanksgiving. They arrive on Wed night and are here until Sun morning. I would like to get the engine torn down to the point where we can test the block. I don't imagine we will get it all done, but anything we can do will be great. My wife is going to design the valve cover. I can't wait to see it - she's an awesome artist.

So - plans for Lil Red thus far:

    Reattach drivers door.
    Find cheap hood.
Tear down. clean, and paint the engine.
Learn names of the parts that are still under where the hood should be.

What else should I do for now?

hahahahaha at the door incident that is funny stuff....

you should also see how much of that dent u can pull out on the radiator support/ behind the headlight motor .. should be able to pull it out by tieing a chain around it and to antoher car/truck or just taking a BFH to it!

That would mean looking for the plug and then winding it back through the holes in the A-pillar and Door. That's a lot of effort. Not like rewiring that whole harness

Well, my Dad and I are going to rebuild the a20a3 that I have sitting in my garage. Going to drop that in, with a 5 speed swap (its currently set up for an auto) and go from there.
