and put $5 in a cofee can every time you fill up. I think the manual says it's ok..I only use HT when I'm heading for the emission test rollers
Hmmm, I used mid grade in the winter and as it warmed up and I started to hear slight pinging on heavy throttle on tip in, I'd run premium. But as soon as it got cold again I was back to mid grade.

Well, that's what I used to have, wrecked, 7/3/02.
Now I d
I always run regular unleaded. It never pings and I'm cheap though. Usuually the only difference in the more expensive gas is it's less likely to preignite. Since our engines are not especially high compression, they don't need premium (unless you have al ot of carbon buildup in the cylinder that raises compression). So try regular and if it pings at high rpm try mid. If that still doesn't work consider moivng up to premium.

No, getting higher than required octane doesn't make your car last longer so get regular if your car runs fine on it.

85? Doesn't the manual say 87+ only? I have never seen 85 at a station before.
