86 carb hatch engine noise

hi,my 86 hatch has a loud engine noise coming from the timing belt area near cam,i have taken all the belts off to isolate the noise,sounds like the cam bearing is gone,anyone had this problem and sorted it out.

There is an idler pulley that keeps tension on the timing belt. If you take off the top cover you can look down and see it. Its a large bearing that may have gone bad.
