Hey assholes, maybe a guy just plain doesn't know....

The 3rd gen accord ECU doesn't have a detachable PROM, so is typically regarded as non-chippable. Chips for these cars are generally regarded as scams, offering no performance gain and being more detrimental to the management system than anything.

I looked at that listing and unfortunately call BS. That chip is junk. No idea why it want's to fiddle with the IAT signal, probably just results in a richer mixture.

^ x2. im doing this next month.....only way you going to gain anything is obd1. Idk why they ad that shit. Dont worry man i was that way to. I figured since it was a honda they had all kinds of crap. but not on a 3g. SO best bet if your looking for performance is simple i/h/e type of crap and cam. basicly bolt on...THEN if your serious get the ecu chipped. No real gain if you just want to upgrade the ecu. Well except the nice idle and smooth power band.

Our ECU is indeed chippable. At least, the 88-89 Cali emissions is. It's made by OKI and has a 128k EPROM.

I posted the code a shile ago.

I've seen some JET chipped ECUs for 86-87 models but I wasn't able to get my hands on those chips. They're made by Matsushita.

    Re: performance chips

talk to an auto electrician and find out if there is someone in the area or country that can unsolder the factory chip and put a socket in its place.
if they can get the chip out with out fucking it, it can be put in the socket or read by someone with the right equipment.
if you can do that, then you need a tuner with an emulator to be able to mod the factory programming on the dyno.
they will read the factory programming on to a lap top or what ever and plug it into the socket in the ecu, then they can change the factory maps to suit your motor. then write the info on to a chip and stick it straight into the nice new socket in the ecu.
although it can cost a few bucks, its prob still cheaper than a stand alone ecu and def better than modding the motor and running a standard set of maps.
and there is the bonus of not having to have to wire in an after market ecu.
its a bit of shagging about, but can provide dam good results
