    Source For Body Clips

Anyone here know where to get the clips for trim and body side molding. You know all those little plastic clips that break when you look at them funny.

I did but I did not use the same words. I looked for body molding and clips. I Never thought to look for trim or fasteners. Thanks for the link.

^ You're going to have to try more than two words.

Trim goes around your windows. Moulding goes down the side of the car. I was not looking for clips for my trim. I was looking for the clips for my moulding. For this reason I can see why I did not find it. I was being too specific and for that I apologize.

So if anyone wants flame me for that so be it. But the guy that does not think of using the word "Fasteners" in his search may just happen to use the word "CLIP". and now he will see this post and the other one also. All is well...

The link that was in the other thread charges the same amount for 3 that you can get 25 for from the links that I added. And I would be willing to bet they are all made by the same company.

Trim that goes around your windows is window trim. Side moldings are door/side trim. Very interchangeable words, not specifically defined.

Yes I was just noticing that. I guess it somewhat depends on the manufacturer. The Honda dealer uses Garnish, Protector, Molding, Clip and Retainer. And then they use Trim for the Package level (LS DX LXI etc.).

Also the dealer is very expensive to buy these from. They are about $4.00 Each.

If I were you, I would at least try getting them off of a junked car. I wouldn't pay $4 a pop for those. Mike went and got a dozen clips for the...the...weather stripping above the rear windows from a 'yard. They're a pretty penny, too.

We have a wrecking yard here that charges a dollar to get in and all of the little stuff like that is included in that dollar. Any suggestion on how to get them off without breaking them. When I pulled side molding off all but of the clips broke. You cant get to them from the back either. They are inside the beam in the door. There has to be a trick I haven't tried.

You definitely have to take them off from the inside to keep them in one piece. I haven't done this personally, but Mike (mykwikcoupe) has a few times that I know of, so I'd lean towards him for a solid answer.

I seem to remember that you can pop off the end of the door moulding, and slide the moulding itself off of the clips. The remaining clips on the door are then somehow removed.

Although on my 2gen, I just pull the inner door panel, and use smooth jawed pliers to release each clip from the backside, and the moulding comes right off.

No need to search for that link. If you head over to the Appearance section it's the second thread on the page.

I gathered roughly a billion clips for various trim pieces from the junkyard. That's really the way to do it. If you have trouble getting them off the junkyard cars in one piece, imagine how hard it's going to be on yours. It's better to spend time at the yard learning how they attach so you can do it properly.

I don't think I used any clips for the door pieces. There are screws on the end and those hold just fine.
