    Best bet on coilovers?

I have heard of people going with coilovers from 90's model accord but i looked at nopi and they carry ground control's for our car so what gives? Also the prices seem stange from one kit to another. Is this the prices for a whole kit or just one. I take it you don't get shocks with any of these kits?....What would be my best bet for a low all out racing stance. This means lightweight aluminum design but still must remain rigid and sturdy. I wasn't sure the best to go with> Why has everybody been going with the coilover from the newer accords?
In the end...it doesn't even matter.

Probably because they are way cheaper. I got my Ractives for about $130US (brand new in box) from a guy on a different board but I think they are about $250 new from an online store. Ground Controls are about $350 if I remember right. I'm happy with them.

for racing.....thats not a good choice plus they don't ride all that great .....well that is unless you buy the fast electric valve setup for 1500 and up and comes also with an accumulator for better air and suspension control. But then you have all that extra weight from the tanks and compressors......just not what a track car needs.
In the end...it doesn't even matter.

I had the privledge of driving a Infinty Q45a once. The only car ever to get a real active suspension (computer controled hydrolics). That was the best riding car I have ever driven to this day, but it took $10,000 of suspension technology to do it, cause that how much extra it cost to get that things suspension as a option. Other than that car, no other non strut/spring system is ever going to come close to truely replacing the strut/spring.
H&R springs revalved Bilstein front struts, koni struts in the rear 195/55-15 Dunlop W-10's Dc Sports header custom cat-back with Dynomax super turbo w/3" Brembo slotted & dimpled rotor's EBC pads
Well, that's what I used to have, wrecked, 7/3/02.

    Very carefull editing

Based on the above quote I can give the best possible answer based on satisfying the above demands. Ground-Controls with custom spring rates 400lbs front (vs 340) and 325lbs rear (vs 250) For struts revalved Bilsteins H.D.'s valved to match spring rates
GC's$339+$50(for custom spring rates) Bilstien's are $370+$260 to revalve

or if your not that serious.

Ground-controls + koni's in the front and Tokico's in the rear
    GC$339+Koni's$216+Tokico's$110

or what ever brand of generic coilover that you trust plus the already mentioned struts.

If you do a search in other forums you will find that the absolute overwhelming approval the Ground-controls have. And the reverse is true for the other brands. You see someone post a question, "hey how is this brand of coilover"? say arospeed brand. You'll see a couple of positive replies then allot of replies from people that hate them and wish they'd bought ground-controls. BUT!!! we do have members that have purchased the reative brand and maxspeed (A20A1 has them) and they're happy with them. The number one thing I'd worry about in purchasing a non GC brand would to be sure that their spring rates are not stiffer than the standard GC rates.

What coilovers have you found and at what price?
