my 89 coupes seatbelt warning systme is acting stupid.. when both seatbelts are connected, the passanger one says its disconected but its still on, and it makes the usual beeping noise... its getting annoying guys... how do i disable the seatbelt warning system to think its connected at all time? has anyone experienced this before?

whenever i hit the passanger door it seems to stop for a split second then starts beeping and the light goes on again... but it doesnt indicate an open door.. just a disconnected seatbelt

There's a switch in the door latch that likes to fail. It is separate from the switch for the dome light/door ajar indicator. Of course the entire latch needs to be replaced as the switch is inaccessible. All 3 of my cars needed the passenger side replaced, never had a problem with the drivers... Your seatbelts will not lock in the event of a collision if the door or seatbelt switches are in the unlatched position. Repair it properly or convert to traditional seatbelts. That annoying beeping and light is there to let you know the passenger's life is at risk.

How long has it been doing this? It happened to my first coupe: a few starts solved the problem, I think. I might have checked the thing under the seat. That was probably it.
