Stupid question - Will a hatch dash fit in a sedan?

I know that the hatch is shorter, and that rear bumper and other things won't fit, but will a dash from a hatch fit? I'd imagine some interior stuff like dash, seats/seat rails and center console should be the same since the car is the same until you get back past the driver area. I wanna do black interior in my 89 LX (that blue looked ugly in the 80's, looks ugly now) and there's some hatches with minty interior at the junk yards here.

Everything from the doors forward will fit. (Not including the doors) So yes the dash will fit.

Awesome. I was assuming fenders would too, but didn't wanna drop $50 and be wrong.

The coupe's and hatch's doors will swap, but the trim will not line up. The carpet is also the same from the coupe and hatch. I think that's about it (other than the dash-forward part).

The trim moldings are different but in the same location. So you just have to swap the trim.

^ I know that, but I've heard and read that the hatch's trim is slightly lower.

That's ok for me. I have a sedan so I don't have to worry about doors. Only a sedan will work there. I should go and see if Sedan and Coupe carpet will match up.

I have my stock cluster. My dash is just blue and ugly and I found a couple black dashes. I'll try to frankenstien some stuff together while I'm in the junk yard to see if it all works.

How? I thought only the automatic and manual had different ones. I know there are some things like the door lights on the little car picture, but what else?

The clusters are ALL different. Its ridiculous.
These are the ones i know for sure are different in some way or another.
    88-89
    LX-i/SE-i 2Dr Auto
    LX-i/SE-i 2dr Manual
    LX-i/SE-i 4dr auto
    LX-i/SE-i 4dr Manual
    LX/DX 2Dr manual
    LX/DX 4dr Manual
From that i gather every door configuration, trans configuration, and the carb/FI have different clusters. The indicators are in different places.

That being said, I had no issues swapping a 4dr manual cluster. Only 88-89 clusters fit in 88-89 cars. What i did was swap out the speedo cluster (to retain correct mileage) and the door/hood/trunk indicator, so it had the right number of lights.

The base plastic is the same housing, though, in the 88 and 89's. Everything should swap over.
