    Power Steering Rack Outer Seals

Is it possible to change just the outer seals without removing the rack?

Yes, they sell seal rebuild kits, but realistically, once those have ripped, dirt and grime and other garbage has probably been able to get in, so you're just going to lock it in there. Its a pain, but you'd be better off just replacing the rack. I'm doing it right now, not as hard as I thought, but a couple day job still

Did you have to disconnect the exhaust? Is it a one man job?

Yea You have to disconnect the exhaust to be able to drop the rack down. I just soaked the bolts in penetrating oil overnight and they came out with no problem. I would say unless you are extremely skilled, it's a 2 person job
