Here's my 89 LX that I picked up for $100. So far spent about $300 between brakes and exhaust work and bought a new clutch to install. Thinking of selling it but dunno. Kinda want a CRX and found one for sale for $1200. =/

100 bucks! damn thats a deal
Yeah I know the tires are bad. The previous owners dogged it out. I cleaned the engine bay. Everything seems to be in ok order except there's a small leak in the valve cover gasket near the cam gear cover.
Oh and those pics are AFTER I cleaned it . . . still looking for a clean CRX or 89 LX-i.
I just don't know what to do with this car. It's in need of so much body work (interior can be steam cleaned back to life). It's mostly in need of a clutch and CV joints in the mechanical department. Ugh so many decisions and so little money.

That car can hardly be categorized as a beater.
for its age its not doing bad....i think the term beater depends on the person...one persons beater could be someones main ride.

I think a rust repair and primer job would do wonders for it. Along with some 14'' steelies with hubcaps (OEM Honda of course) and stripping the interior to steam clean and vac. Then a Weber. Then saving up and gathering parts for an eventual full paint job and conversion to full injection and a B swap (CRVTEC would be sweet. Lots'o'torque).
its not bad at all bro if u want a LXI keep this one around as a DD no need to put a ton of miles on your fun car![]()

Does anyone know the name of the color for this car? It's all faded but it's fresh looking in the trunk, and I like it and want to repaint it.
I was thinking about possibly going with Tidewater Blue.

I've been shopping around for quotes on body work and rust repair. Best so far is $1800 for rust repaired and standard paint job on car. =/
First of all,100 dollars for a car that runs is a blank blank steal! after that its a honda !![]()
you need to have a go at the rust yourself maatee its way cheaper that way
Yeah, I guess I'll just try it myself. Couldn't get any worse, right? Lol I guess I'll try the tiny rust spots first, then work my way up to that big boy. I have an old 93 Mustang hood in my utility room that I could use for practice.
cut hood use metal as patch panal !

Pics of before and after fender replace. I also managed to reallign the bumper with the turn signal and fender. The bumper screw are so old and rusted I can't even get them out.

Nope, she runs. Just needs the clutch and axles now. Maybe a carb rebuild and alignment (due to the ball joints and all being outta whack) and all the probs should be just cosmetic after that. Valve cover gasket still has a leak tho. =/
