Nio's 89 SE-i Build Thread *Part 2*

Okay I think the old thread went on long enough.

So I'm starting a new one. you can still find the old thread at the bottom of my post. This way it saves clutter and people with slower internets *bawahaha* don't have to suffer as much.


At this minute I do not have pictures *cause of limitations on Library computers.* But I should have pictures up this weekend. And don't think I forgot you guys, I've been taking pictures of all my work on the car, its kinda backedup on my phone, so you will all get to see it going down. *aren't I so sweet*

But here it goes.

I'm starting on the paint job for the car. I've change from the black and white, to a black and yellow-goldish color. (golden panda ^.^)

But I've already started to sand down the bumpers and the hood. *I'm fixing nichs in the bumpers as well.* the bumpers and hood will be done first along with the side trim. *all in black, and the mirrors as well*

I will also be able to finish my stupid push start system this weekend. T_T stupid city job held my paycheck a extra two weeks.

But hey I'm finally getting to go somewhere.

And there will be a few other little things I'm going to do this weekend *its a 4 day weekend for me.* I'm going to repaint the interior of the car black, and relocate my battery. fun fun. >.< busy weekend.


BTW the paint job will be the "$50" paint job, I want to see how well it turns out when I give it a try. Wish me luck

Now for some bad news *super sad face*. I was unable to find a driver side window at the junk yard. The one I had my eye on was gone , As well I wasn't able to paint the hood due to financial issues.

However There is some good news.

I did finish sanding the hood, and bumpers, and primed the hood so its all set to go for the paint job. As well I replaced my two front tires. (I should say one since I've been on a donut for the past 4 months) they are 15" ford wheels, Got them for 20 bucks each, and they are in rather good condition. *way better then the ones that where on there.*

now for the big kicker.

*drum roll please*

I got my push start button working. HAHA, It sucked I had to walk over 6 miles to get all the parts for the car. But damn it it was worth it. =^.^=

So tomorrow I will have pictures up of everything. and since I know how to set up a push start I'll set up a complete walk threw if people really want me to.

Well here are some pictures.

I'm kinda pissed, I had done like 50 pictures of the work I had done to the car, and my stupid phone crashed and curupted all my pictures. TT_TT, so I lost all the work I did when I was removing my steering column, the wirining on the push start, what the car looked like while I was sanding everything!

But what sucks even more is that my best friends daughters 2nd B-day was on the phone, and I never got to put the pictures or videos on a PC to save them.

looking real good man. The hood looks real straight as well. ITs tough to work on the car you drive but it can be done.

passinger side panel is now primed, along with the driver side panel being sanded. I've also finished the lights. I'll be picking up some more primer, after these last few parts are done, the whole front is all set for painting, then I will start on the doors and roof.


*also if all goes well next check, I'm either getting passetter exhaust *with headers* or new fuel pump, tank, sending unit, >.> unless I get a little carried away with fireworks. *since I leave in august for boot*

Well I went broke didn't have enough for any parts.

How ever tomorrow I'm starting with the sanding, of both doors and then priming them.

if I had time I might do the roof, and trunk.

I hate being broke.

Not even kidding, I saw some 15" oem Honda wheels on a like '95 Accord just like those Escort wheels two days ago. I've never seen them before. I should have taken pictures, even though they wouldn't fit these cars...

Well

This weekend I sanded the passanger door and primed it. and I'll be doing the driver side some time this week.

Since my damn fuel pump finally went out on me this morning, my car is currently sitting up at my work and I hope they don't tow it.

I'm hunting down a cheap fuel pump for a temporary fix, *new not used*. so far I've found a few but I just hope they actually work for my car.

sucked cause I had to walk home 2 1/2 miles and I'm going to have to keep going back and forth walking untill I get it fixed ^.^ could be worse. But I guess that's how life works.


BTW I ship to boot in less then a month. :3 so yea~!

Well I found out what was wrong.

My Main Relay went bad.

After dropping the dash, moving the fuse box and pulling out some assebly controller, I found the damn thing.

Oh yea and 60$ later. shes running again.

Also since the last update. I've sanded and primed both doors, and started sanding the back panel.

Also have finished removing all of the interior.

I know its been awhile guys.

I'm getting my phone sent to me and hopefully I can get the last pictures I had on the car up here.

I managed to sand and prime all but the back passanger panel, trunk and roof.

Also removed the mirrors but kept the parts that connect to the door. and painted them glossy black.

as for the motor I'm going to be getting a new one if I go home for x-mas. as well as a full exhaust system and my rims, and seats.

Can't wait. only 2 more months. XD guess I better start ording parts.

Okay..

I got paid today, and this is my check. I have 350$ to spend on parts. I need a crank and some bearings first and for most. The bearings are a must because I believe thats whats wrong. I can live without a crank if I have to. but I also need pistons, and Rods, and rotors, breaks.

I know egay carries everyone of those. But I want to know if anyone has a trustworthy site that has it, I've done alot of searching, but have been unable to find the crank. so any help would be great.

this company is based right outside where I live in texas, But its on egay, and I don't want to spend 150$ *plus shipping and extra fees, so around 220$* for a crank and some bearings that suck.
