Coming along nicely Rob. Getting me inspired as well.![]()
You have been a big inspiration for me and time has passed this project by when I purchased my Subaru and Ford work van. But I have not had a car nor a manual transmission since then and I have finally put this project in motion. So hopefully I can keep things moving forward and purhaps inspire some of the newer/younger generations even though these cars are now a dying breed.
Im definately excited to see this project going again. The turbo b20 needs to live again!
That is my friend Niks daily driver. His toy cars are even nicer a Triumph TR6, 280Z, and a Lotus. Nik is one friend that you know when you call he will answer. He is the one that painted my car which I can say wouldn't have happened without him. The materials alone are close to what I paid for this car alone. With that said I greatly appreciate my friends!
You need to move to California just so this one won't rust. As a backup plan, I could always let you store it at my place. You know, I'd be willing to do you a solid like that.

At this stage I can say I'm happy I kept it but it would be extremely difficult if I didn't buy all the trim pieces a long time ago. I have found it very difficult to get parts but I'm fortunate to have the majority of what I need. So I will keep piecing this together until it's done.
LOVE that you are still making progress![]()

It has been a long road to say the least but I appreciate the car more although parts are scarce. Today was the first time I had 12+ Vdc to the chassis in over 5 years if not more. The machine shop has been the biggest downfall other than life but I will keep the pressure on as I don't have an alternative that is at that level. I think these days people appreciate them more as they are disappearing day by day.

Fantastic job Rob. Your persistence is admirable! Your work has always inspired me. To date your B20A work has been the most thorough I've come across. Thanks for keeping at it.
I myself will take a different path this time, as over the years I have become more (boring and) concerned with driving comfort, practicality and fuel economy. I'm forced to go OBD1 as I'd really hate going back to vacuum advance ignition. The problem however is that no-one as far as i know has ever been able to extract fuel and ignition tables from a JDM B20A ecu. And tuning the ecu from scratch for all part load driving conditions is something that is not easily done (well). The maps I used on my former B20A were dyno-tuned fine for >85% throttle but for part load they were basically garbage compared to the drive-ability of the stock EDM B20A ecu and vacuum advance ignition. I cannot run the JDM ecu either as I don't have EGR and various other emissions controls and thus the ECU will go into limp mode. Maybe I should go back to vacuum advance after-all..
Is this metallic grey or green?
