    CEL after installing intake

    Group,
I installed an open cone intake on my LXi last weekend. The car runs really well with this on, however I get a Check Engine Light when I let off the gas at higher RPM's. I haven't pulled the codes yet, but wondering if anyone had ideas to look at. If I shift into neutral, and let it freewheel, it won't trip the CEL. If however I downshift, it will trip the light.

    Any clues?
This is an 89 LXi sedan 5MT

You should check the code first.. Its hard to tell what is the issue of this kind of situation.

I'd think it would be something triggering an O2 sensor code. Really need to pull the code to find out, though. No reason to just throw money at parts.
