Just got the other accord recharged with R12, had to go in and change out the a/c thermostat. Swapped out the condenser as well.

I don't think I've ever used air conditioning in a car...
Is that because of the Pacific northwest weather up there? I'm thinking of retirement up that way in about another 5-7 years.

do alot of research on area. we have a very diverse climate. You can choose from desert, rainforest, mountainous, arid, or anything else you can think of. Personally I prefer the olympic peninsula. You have more rainfall, less people as a whole but you also have the 3rd most hiked trail in the world, beauty beyond what most would ever seen and the prices are a half what you would pay in other areas. Take a month long trip before you buy. Just my suggestion. Ive seen every hill in this state and been on probably every road. The joys of cellular work is you work on every tower. Oh and they have alot of towers up here.
i wish i knew more about the ac system...maybe one day il drive down to learn

R12 is illegal here and you cant even get r134 unless you are qualified to use it.
laws must be pretty relaxed over there eh
just put LPG into your aircon and it will work(Y) just dont crash or burn your ac system haha
it doesnt get hot enough over here to need air con, windows down ftw
I love cold A/C too. It's not really hot for long periods of time here but it does get really humid. A/C does a great job at dehumidifying.

wait until you turn 25 or so and realize that you rather be comfortable than "cool" no pun intended. Then if you have an office job, forget it...a/c will be your best friend.
i just recharged my integra and the A/C is better, but still leaves a lot to be desired. I should probably look into it further as I think it should be colder

I've never liked the staleness of AC which is why I rarely ever use it.
I can't read the signature rules so MrBen deleted my signature.
I bought my SE-i in October of 2001. The a/c was not working. I had it serviced, they fixed a small loose fitting, refilled it with freon, and it was good until 2 years ago when I noticed on a trip to Wash DC that is wasn't quite as cold as it could be. I refilled about 1/2 lb of freon and it's been fine since. Gotta love Honda.
Has anyone tried using AutoFrost to charge your R12? Mine isn't cooling well and I can see clutch kicking in but they are giving me a fit trying to find R12. It's 97 with a humidity of 70 something. Since it is low could I half ass it and throw 134 on top of R12? I know it is not recommended but has anyone done it?
NO, you cannot mix R12 and R134a.

i used to say I preferred my windows down too...until i finally got a car with working air!
I found a can of Freeze12 and charged mine back up. It has been high 90's with humidity in the 70's. Now it blows cold. Except every now and then it will seem like it is not blowing as cold. I turn the air switch off and back on and it gets cold again. I believe this is due to the pressure switch?
