I thought Mike Lee used the stock flywheel and a USDM SOHC prelude clutch kit. I have not compared mine to any yet.
Yeah Mike used USDM stuff. But I was planning to get a new Pressure plate. I don't have a used one to compare which sucks.
Maybe you could do that for me :D :lol
Getting one from Japan or another country would cost alot in shipping. Alone (close to 130 US just in shipping plus the cost of the plate)

I dont remember if i have a A20A Clutch still but i will check in the next few days. I have the JDM setup still intact with one of my B20A setups. Maybe we can see what the guy did in california if they used the stock B20A plate or probably the 2.0 Si prelude kit. Things have slowed down a lot for me with the turbo setup so i have been debating on installing the other stock B20A in for the summer or not. Im gonna have to see in the next few weeks but i have had too many bills come my way and now all the bills from the college i am attending in sept dont help either. But im still gonna keep buying stuff until its complete.
I know that the B20A5 clutch is the same as the JDM B20A. The flywheel is not the and the pressure plate is not the same part number. However, we've seen in the past that this means nothing. The 90-93 clutch release bearing is the same as our JDM bearing but it's not the same part number.
if I can get my hands on a used pressure plate, I might do a trip to the junkyard to compare them with onther hondas.

Yeah but Carot wouldnt you buy a clutch kit for the B20A5 that has the pressure plate with it? I dont see what would be different as far as fitment of the pressure plate unless it was a lot thicker. But i did look around today when i was home and i think i threw away my old clutch but i do have 2 A20A3 flywheels laying around.
Ok,
I found a complete JDM B20A for L3G10N here. I'll compare the flywheel and pressure plate. I don't want to use a B20A5 flywheel because we have to grind the transmission. If the pressure plate for the JDM B20A and the B20A5 are the same, that would solve all my problems since I would just go to the honda dealer :D

I am like 99% sure that my 89 prelude si act 3 kit fits my b20a tranny. only 1 % shy cause I havent bolted it up but at one point i researched it and was assured it would work.
OK, I found the answer :) I went to the junkyard today and I compared L3G10N's parts with USDM Parts...
The 88-89 B20A5 pressure plate WILL bolt to the JDM B20A flywheel. The clutch will also work
The USDM 90-91 flywheel and pressure plate are different... I have yet to compare the 88-89 flywheel... Updates are comming..

I don't know if there's that much of a difference between the b2k5 (if that's what it's called) transmission and such (I have a gold top b20a), but the 89 prelude pressure plate does NOT fit. the clutch itself does, but the pressure plate DEFINITELY doesn't. my plate has a bunch of wear, but thankfully it still seems to work enough for me to feel like I have a decent clutch right now.
If the 89 prelude si plate does fit, it's on a different transmission than mine. Definitely not fitting here. It may fit on the other transmission, if you have that. Otherwise, I don't know WHAT's going on.
I was really expecting it to after you said it would. I still need a new pressure plate, mine's pretty beat up. UGH!

You have to use the 88-89 B20A5 one for it to work. The 90-91 uses a larger setup like the B16's etc. The only issue you should/might have is it rubbing on the bell housing which you will have to grind down but it will physically bolt up.
it's from an 89 Si. such is how I ordered it. unless by some fluke I have the wrong pressure plate.

It could be from the 2.05Si which im not sure what the difference is. When i got the B20A5 i had to grind a little of the bell housing.
The pressure plate I test fited was from a blacktop B20A. I have a B2K5 transmission on my blacktop and it works fine with the B20A5 flywheel and pressure plate. I had to grind 1/10th of a milimeter on the belhousing... that's all.

Mine is a gold top so it should work fine on both engines/trannsmissions.
The Transmission I'm using is from a goldtop too (B2K5) so like Rob said, it should work fine with both the B2K5 ans F2K5

Guys, the goldtop 86-87 B20A flywheel should mate with the A20A pressure plate. They have the same part number: 22300-PJ0-010
Hmmm, the par number I have for the Boldtop B20A is 22300-PH3-010. Where did you get your part number from? I got mine from the JDM parts catalog.
The B20A5 pressure plate should work anyway. (88-89)

I got my part number from the european electronic parts catalog. The part number for the flywheel that should match the PP is 22100-PJ5-670.
