    1979 Emblem

    Hi,

I own a 1979 honda accord cvcc and I'm looking for the hood emblem. I've looked all over the place (hondaparts, ebay, craigslist...) with no luck. I believe the part number is 87101-672-020. Does anyone know any other sources?

    Thanks

    Alex

Sure did man. Lots of Civic parts but no one had that particular emblem. I think it only came on 76-79. I dont think 1980 came with it...
    Thanks

Damn, you know how many I've seen in the last few years and never snagged? Like two years ago, I had no problem finding parts. Suddenly all the 1g Accords are gone! I've been looking for a set of stock seats for like 9 months now...

By the way, you should post some pics of your car!

Just for interest here's a shot comparing the '77 & '79 hood emblems
    '79 on the right
So they did vary over the years, some parts of Europe (like Germany) also apparently getting a black (rubber?) version.
All our 1st gen Accords had them but I gather North American & Japanese market saloons '79 & on had a different hood without them.

Yes, the 1979 hood emblems were quite larger than 77. My brother owns a 1980 and I dont think his car had one.? @2ndGenGuy I will post some pics this week, it needs a paint job

Yep, european versions got the un-chrome and uncool emblems, that's why I bought one of those chrome on ebay few years ago. Our were made of tough rubber mounted on plastic base plate.

I have the "CVCC" nice emblem for the grill if anyone would be keen on it, I can give it away for free in exchange for some other part I'm looking for.
