    Re: 1989 EX-i

Thanks, but i alredy had a 3rd gen, 87. Bought that two years ago. One winter MASSACRED it, been lookin for a nice EX-i ever since. My display picture is my 87.

So one question, are the door panels in two peices? is the cloth seperated from the vinil? If it is, i'd love to put my door panels from the 87 in instead. I think they'd look way better.

The same thing that happened to the front light, i guess. He alredy replaced the fender and corner lights, which is why the fender dosnt line up with the door. But the hubcap is gonna dissapear. Gona put my chrome/black minty-fresh H logos on those black steelies. Maybe paint the steelies gloss black when i can, too.

Looks like a really clean car for Quebec.

Take good care of it if you buy it.

Clean purchase. As for door panels mine are one piece. I do not believe the doors changed so I wouldn't see why you couldn't swap them. I haven't seen any EX's around where I live.

    Re: 1989 EX-i

I need to use only the fabric part cause the front doors i think had tweets on the vinil, theres holes near the dash. I'd like to take my cassette holders, but the new one is AT, and old is MT. Does it still just swap over?

Also, the rear seats are fold down as we know, so theres the extra cushoned part between the seats and the rear doors. They need to come out with the parts im swapping, to keep it all the same fabric. I hope its not too hard.

    Kay, Progress! (pics later)

I took the hubcaps off, 2 minty ones, one has a chip, and the 4th is massacred. Put the 4 H logos on the center and polished up the rims. Also washed and detailed the whole car, after changing the headlight cover.. which didnt align right. The hood actually sits ontop of the light cover a little. Perhaps i didnt put the motor arm on at the right angle? it looks like maybe its not closing all the way.

I found an issue, the inner bumper is bent, and the headlight's black plastic cover dosnt clear it. I guess i need to pull off the bumper.

    Prety long update..

    Edit: Pictures..or a couple.

I think we've gone over this. Take pictures of the two center consoles you have. Yes, the cassette holder will swap if the other cars has the console with the hole. If it doesn't, you'll have to swap out the entire front portion. While doing this, since one is a manual and one is automatic, you'll have to swap the square piece that goes around the auto shifter for the leather manual boot.

While the cars are complete, you should do some pre- and post-facelift comparison shots.

    Re: 1989 EX-i

Yea we went over it with the Manual to manual, i was wondering how easily it would go MT to AT.

    Pics?!
    Fuzzy Dice
I have done quite a few kilomiters since monday.
replaced the front grill peice, and changed the fake headlight plastic.

    Cleaned off the rims.

Four screws remove the plastic square and shift boot. Easy swap.

    Re: 1989 EX-i

Hah, nice. I asked a guy who says he's a master mechanic, but he says "it dosnt swap over" ... im just gona stick to asking you guys if anything gets complicated, like that headlight cover for example.

Here's a good one, i need a new front bumper. Like, the whole thing. Plastic and metal. Im gona take the plastic bumper off the 87, but can i take the metal part too? Anyone know? The bumper on the 89 is bent up, which is why i dont have the plastic parts on the headlight yet. They dont clear the bumper.
