Am I to worry if I turn on my car's HEAT button and the nice, beautifully warm air only comes from my side vents and under-windshield vents? I need to check again, but I feel like with just the dial(slide switch, whatever >_>) up to max heat, and normal VENT on bypassed that odd issue.
It's probably me still not knowing exactly about climate control, but I thought I should ask

five vent selections:
vent (four dash vents only)
high/low (four dash vents, four lower vents for feet)
heat (four lower vents for feet, two front two rear)
heat/defrost (heat listed above, plus the vents along the windshield and the two on the door sills)
defrost (vents along windshield and two on doors sills
"fresh" opens the vent to let air flow in from outside of the vehicle
"rec" recirculates the air inside of the vehicle
air conditioning...enough said
All 1986-1989 LX's, LX-i's and SE-i's have the ability to close the center vents individually. The switch is up/blue for open and down/white for closed. Like mentioned above, it bypasses the heater to blah blah.(Not available on any DX.)
All 1988-1989 models have the ability to individually close the outer vents on the dash, closest to the door panel (NOT the ones on the sills). This is done by the levers on the lower-right side of the steering wheel. (Not available on any 1986-1987 models.)
To completely shut off the climate control, select high/low, recirculate, disengage air conditioning, manually close the dash vents and turn the fan off. Driving with the fan off but the "fresh" button selected will still force air into the cabin while you drive.

It's unusual for the vent controls to go haywire on these cars. I would start by looking at the door motors in the dash. If one isn't working properly, it can keep air from blowing where it should.

nope it would have to come from another a-series engine
OK. um where does the resonator go on our cars? i been doing some searching but nothing comes up exactly where it goes. i know what it does but just not where it goes. does it go after the cat? or behind the muffler? any help is great! thank you.
Thank you Pico.
Does anyone know where I can get some cheap coilovers for my 88 accord dx hatch
^ You can use any generic 88-00 civic coilover sleeves, you can get those at your local speed/performance shop or ebay but If you want full body coilovers, then ksports/D2 are the cheapest.
Umm ..., what are coilovers?
How do you know if you need to replace your springs when you do struts/shocks?
shawnseeley.com <-- my blog
check out rgrah011 on utube for 88 accord
Technically its any coil spring over a shock (like what we have in our cars), hence the name "coilover" but most people associate them with aftermarket coilover which are stiffer than stock springs and can adjust the height of the vehicle. Aftermarket coilover have two different designs, a sleeve design and a full body design.
If they seem to have any damages (broken, heated, cut) I would replace it or if the car leans, if not your springs are still good.
Ok so my 88 accord lx (Carburetor) has had some problems like my headlights never turn off except when the car is off and it will star then just die shortly after starting. I hae changed the Dist. Cap, Rotor ignition button, spark plugs, valve cover gasket (leaking oil) and i have changed the Vacuum Advance Dist. It only has 174,xxx miles but runs as if it has twice that much. Any feed back would be awesome.
Two dumb questions to add to this thread: What is meant AE86 theme? What does CA5 mean?
1988 Accord LX-i 2-door coupe, 205K miles, updated 1/4/18.
CA 5 is a manufactors model number for some of thes Hondas. Like C3 is a certain year/style Corvette, K5 is certain style Blazer etc..
AE86 style ( 80's RWD toyota corolla) I don't get that reference as used here recentley , well I think I do in that it means semi flat black panels and graphics on an otherwise regular base color. I could be wrong but I actually went looking for pics of them to get cool two tone paint schemes.
AE86 is a body style of fifth-generation Toyota Corolla, last RWD 'Rolla, I believe. Not sure if it's part of the VIN, like:
CA5 is a body style of third-generation Accord, but I don't remember what exactly differentiates the CA body codes
