    Honda Prelude

or poolude as some may call it. i just got one this morning for $200. we need another car here since my mum wrote her accord off. so here's another build thread. now to the car

    the good:
    new battery
    couple new tyres
    speakers
    overall body condition
    new shocks (apparently)
everything works (other than the motor)
    the price i suppose
    rego on hold

    the bad:
    it's a 4th gen
    snapped cam belt
    possibly bent valves
    rust on the roof
    faded/peeling paint

    onto the pics:

    Re: Honda Prelude

    a snapped belt sucks

You can always install a SOHC in there if you decide to go the cheap route.

Anyway, I guess F22Bs should be readily available in NZ.

Nice find for 200 bones! While you have the engine out you plan on doing a manual tranny swap too?

thanks, i would, but i don't have any manual conversion to stick into it. but if i did, i'd stick it into a 4g accord i has hehe

    Re: Honda Prelude

indeed. i hope it will be drivable by thursday, then i can take it to my mate to weld up the rust on teh sunroof. that f22 from the accord was probably the most difficult motor i've ever removed. due to hoist failure & it not wanting to come out easy like it should. and that's why there's new dents & holes in the car

lots of little things broke off that motor removing it, tomorrow i shall replace all those bits, clean it, prep it for install & maybe go get a new cam belt for it lol

    Re: Honda Prelude

haha cheers. i gotta get the car on the road within the next 2 weeks

    heres moar pics

    before:

    after:

didnt realize there was a difference between the accord & prelude mounts till after i installed the motor. no wonder they never lined up properly

i tried some accord hubs, that was fail. they also add a couple degrees negative camber, or would that be take away a couple degrees of camber.

    FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU @ this

    and mostly done:

gotta find a way to make the power steering work, fix the alternator, swap exhausts and then a bunch of other minor little stuffs

it drives good though lol. the oil is all creamy though. i hope thats just from sitting for months with no rocker cover or washing the motor. ill give it a oil change soon as

its nice to know that the car was pre-wired for vtec though

    Re: Honda Prelude

this car is really annoying me right now. electrical failures everywhere, yesterday the voltage regulator decided to pretty much blow everything in the car up, the gauges dont light up properly now, i think it blew the p0a ecu that goes with this motor as well. it was running mint on the p39 ecu yesterday, but now its running like it's on 3 cylinders. grrrr

    Re: Honda Prelude

in other news, check out my cool power steering bracket i made. i cut up one of those things that go over the drive plate on autos

then test this nissan gearbox bracket for size

    and cut down to fit

tension is perfect, pulley lines up good with the crank & all is nice and solid. power steering for the win!
