Hey all. I'm new to the site and I hope this isn't totally irrelevant and off-topic but I have an 82 silver hatch in decent shape and I figured you ladies and gents would be the people to see about the value of my car. I need some money and though I love it, I may have to let it go (it's been supplanted by an 89 Olds Custom Cruiser wagon).
74K original miles, runs great, paint is good, clear coat hasn't even started to wear yet. It was garaged until three years ago when I got it. I've kept clean oil in it and actively maintained it; it's been my daily driver for those three years without a single issue. I put maybe 20K on it.
New front rotors and pads. New-ish front tires, front and rear have plenty of tread. A/C blows cold, everything works.
Interior is relatively clean. No significant wear on upholstery. Trunk carpet looking pretty stained but not torn up. Headliner is good. No rips or tears anywhere.
The bad: my dad backed into me with his F150 in January. Behind the driver's door is a 1' circular dent that could be fixed without cutting it out. It's a little wrinkled and would require bondo for sure. The driver's door is wrinkled at the very edge from the damage but shuts fine, seals fine, no operational problems. I have all the trim, undamaged, ready to go back on once the body is fixed.
Rear chrome strip that wraps around the pass. side is bent about 2", and the turn signal lens is broken about 2" in circumference.
Honda cancer is minimal; limited to small (1" or smaller) spots on the rear wheel wells and on the driver's side where the dent is.
Once I get this Olds back to its former glory (couple weeks or so), I'll be selling the Honda. Rather than list it on craigslist or sell it to some kid I thought I'd mention it here first where people truly appreciate these cool old cars and could get first dibs on it.
More pictures available upon request.
I appreciate your time and advice and I apologize ahead of time if my post was excessive or improper.
