    Question H22ed 3rd gen

My 89 accord lxi is almost finish being swapped. The reason why its takin so long is because it was originally auto trans. So thats being swapped 2 f22 5spd. I read a story in honda tuning about a guy who swapped his 95 accord 2 5spd n h22. The f22 auto n f22 5spd mounts didnt match up so not only did he need custom motor mounts but tranny mounts as well. We`ll c n my case on the 3rd gen cuz um sure many people r interested. I know i was when i was doin research 24/7 n couldnt find any info even n no mans land. It really wouldve helped if some body did it b4 me n left the info 2 b seen.all i could find is h22 swap info on 90-up accord which is useless b cuz everything already matches up. I will leave the info when my swap is finished.i think the h22 n a 3rd gen will kick butt b cuz its much lighter than all other accords. Somewhere near 2800 ibs. If u know something i dont please feel free 2 comment n educate b4 i find out the hard way. Type ``glicious21`` on youtube.com 2c vids of my 3rd gen n subscribe. Thank you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31Ewz3ZdRPk

the f/h series motor mounts are different for auto and 5-speed tranny's. i know for the 5th gen if your'e doing an auto to manual conversion there is a specific mount for that as well.

All the mounts have to be made custom anyways, whether you're using an auto or manual... At least, that was the impression that I had.

    Re: H22ed 3rd gen

yeah but if you're just modifying the body to use a stock mount then it would matter.

however, i'm not sure that's the best route to take as then it would be a lot of work to go back to stock, not sure why you'd want to but just saying.

it would also be near impossible to make it use the stock stuff as i'm sure suspension geometry would be a factor in doing it that way, getting the axle angles proper would be difficult.

    anyway, no SS no PROOF.

    Re: H22ed 3rd gen

    Some questions I have.

    1. Where did you get the lower control arms?
    2. What combination of mounts did you put together to make the H22 fit in the 3rd gen engine bay?
    3. What axles are you going to use?
    4. How did you wire the car for the H22 swap?
    5. How are you hooking up the shifter?
    6. Did you just plug the ECU into the stock harness?
    7. What are you going to do about the engine bay not clearing the alternator in the rear towards the firewall, and towards the strut mount?

Oh this thread and all the other h22 in a 3g threads are worthless without pics. Also please stop posting the link to your pictures on all you post in other peoples threads, thats annoying.

I guess the whole "signature" idea is too complicated for him. He needs to stop commenting on every damn thread on the forum, as well.

To be fair, this guy is not doing THAT. That thread is a completely different beast. You don't need a tube frame to do an H22 swap. Why do you think this is such a complicated thing?

It's a scary car. Built by a brilliant mad scientist. If he has a tube frame front end, it's for good reason.

So, I am not going to lie...I have a real hard time following your posts, but from the pics that I have seen it seems like you have a solid car to start with. I am not sure if you really are doing an H-swap, but if you are goodluck, I have seen the car post above in person and that is a full out drag car. over the years there have been maybe like 2-3 other h-swap cars on these forums, so it is possible! One thing I was thinking about is why not do the h2b transmission and use a cable b-series trans?

also, are those lower arms you have painted? they look to be but your camera didn't focus on them too well
