Re: I found my project, '89 Accord Aerodeck EX 2.0i

    Nice clean Aerodeck!
I had same problem with rear wheel arches. When it became worse, I asked pro to repair them with using patch panel - greatdane had also done the same repair by himself last year, I believe, on his aerodeck.

I admire your leather seat in such a great condition.

I agree with your choice of wheels - I like the original wheel caps design very much.

Or this one - in Europe they came with 16v (4 door sedan with B20A)

    Hee,
    Thanx for the compliments.
But what do you agree on? My current wheels being the wrong ones (becouse i don't like them on this car), or on that straight 10 spoke wheels are the right ones?
Saw your car on the internet long before finding out about the 3geez.
It's one of the first you find using Google.
    Looks very clean.

    Original wheel cap design?
Like nr. 4 on this pic?

Hi, probably I was completely drunk I can't remember what I have agreed with May be I thought the original steel wheel with original cap looking pretty nice as if it just pop up from Honda catalog. I am not sure what you mean by "My current wheels being the wrong ones" - actually the wheels they came with your car are the original ones (I am sure you know that...) and I personally think they look very nice. It shame that Honda didn't make alloy wheel with that design. I don't mean to hijack your thread but this is mine with the original wheels on.

Thanks for your complement - nice to know that my aerodeck didn't make you think not to buy aerodeck haha.

I think the catalog image you are showing is for Civic range. The OEM wheel for our car has +45mm off set. Some Mugen wheels are +38mm but I recommend to stick with +45mm, at least +40mm or your steering wheel will not sit straight and also the steering will become very sensitive to the road surface.

Below is a scan of Japanese Accord Accessory catalog. The bottom row, middle one is the wheel from the red aerodeck picture I attached earlier. In UK this wheel came with 4dr B20A model as standard.

    non OEM wheels I like;
    Hartge type 16inch

    6 spoke 16inch

But preference of wheel is really up to the owner. In 3geez, there are quite few threads about choosing right alloy wheel so you may want to find those thread in search.

very nice aerodeck. I always considered them a hatchback with an extended roof line lol. as a word of advice, being this car is mint and no visible rust at all is to get a product called honey coat. Its a waxy spray, GOOD body techs use this when a door skin or rocker panel is replaced. I personally spray this in the lower door, rocker and inside the rear wheel wells. I noticed an issue with the way Honda attaches the rear 1/4's together, i believe this is the reason why almost all 3geez have rear arch rot. Again, good find

There are two types of hatchback: Fastback (like the UDSM hatch), and regular/[station] wagon style (like the aerodeck).

So, technically most vans and SUV's are hatches.

in the case of our aerodecks and hatchbacks wouldn't they be considered glass backs? I just meant if u stretched the upper roof line of a hatchback id practically be an aerodeck. Even the tail lights are very similar

Some 10 years ago i owned 2 Aerodecks, so i'm not new to it.

Thanx for the info, and i like pictures!!
Nice to know that 45 is OEM, and that Mugen uses the same value as on my current rims, the ones that came of my (ex)Civic. (the 'wrong ones')
I'm sure 45 is a better drive, but i will stick with 17 inch 38 if it fits after my drop.
I like original. But not on the wheels. But like you said "preference of wheel is really up to the owner".

Btw: jealous of your cup holder.

Mine has rust on the wheel arches as wel. See #21
It needs some attention, and i will send it to a polish shop after the drop.
I like to see the Aerodeck as a shooting break, or as a 3 door stationwagon...

Re: I found my project, '89 Accord Aerodeck EX 2.0i

Had the test for Dutch licence plates today and passed!
Was nice to drive it for the first time, only did 30 meters before.
Drives great! Did not drive it to fast, hand writen white licence plates (only usable for 1 day and only in a straight line to the test station and back) jump out between all the yellow, and was not waiting for a police control.
Only did 160 km/h (100 m/h) for a short bit, but its al good.
Very nice ROARRR! (its a sound)
Could use some new front diskbrakes tough.
In a few days papers will be here and plates can be made.
To make it full legal, i need to take a APK test.
That's ones a year to see if the car is safe.
Have an appointment at the Honda dealer for friday.

So now its back underneath the car port, waiting for the plates.

At least it's getting there! If I were you I couldn't wait till it passed the APK!
But when everything is alright you should be able to drive it without fear for police this friday...

Hey man, thanx for the intrest.
Papers and plates are okay. Test last monday, and papers in the mailbox on friday, plates made, and on the car a few hours later. It's a Dutch car now.

No APK (MOT?) yet. At the RDW (test station) the chap found a torn rubber
right away, we canceled the APK, which i will take later at my home town Honda dealer.

The cars interior is partly out right now.. So, no driving around.
I have cleaned the 4 drains of the sunroof.
All where blocked. The sunroof was taped off. The tape i removed on the fist day, so action was necessary.
A lot needs to come out for removing the headliner.
But it's done. Now the car can be parked in rain. (Dutch weather sucks 8 months of the year (for other readers))
First will clean the headliner before putting it all back together, and need daylight for that.
So til sunday the car is back in its spot underneath the carport, don't think it will do mutch km's next months, it only likes nice weather.

Re: I found my project, '89 Accord Aerodeck EX 2.0i

Currently there is no audio in my car. Listen to the sound of the engine is nice, but not for to long.
I like to have it all compete and put it in the car all at ones.
This is where i'm at so far:

    The headset.

    Pioneer DEH-P9800BT

Have it for 3 years, i think.
It's fine, 3 pre outs, MP3, Bluetooth, etc.
What i was missing was a USB connection.
So i bought this. Came in today.

    Pioneer CD-UB100

Together with a 16 GB OCZ USB stick this gives me 2500 tracks (192 kbps or higher) and 2 GB free space left.

    For Amps i use these.

Caliber CA 80 and CA 460

I think some 11 years old, have been used for 3 years. And in the closet for the rest. They are still fine. Have been thinking about replacing them.
Butt i'll wait, until they die.
The CA 80 i use for rear speakers, 2 channels from the 460 for front, and 2 bridged for the sub.

The sub is also in the house.
    It's a Polk DB124.

What i'm missing are front en rear speakers.
Had MB Quart's before, very nice sound, but after 3 years of beatings the best was behind them. I left them in the Civic when i sold it.

I thinking of buying these now.
    Polk MM5251 as front speakers.

And in the same serie the Polk MM 521 for rear speakers.

For now it will remain by thinking, and listen to the ROARR of the engine. First have to save some money.
Will need new power cabel aswell Accord is longer than my old Civic and the battery is more to the front.
    Waiting is a art.

Thanks! Your right, did the car wash a week ago, it was a leakage test also. And past, no water comming in.
The day before the pics i cleaned all glass in and out. 10!! (beeep) windows.
Nasty job, and when taking pics the sun was on it, i saw its not all 100%.
    Have to redo it....

I never noticed, think its standard on all euro accords, we have a ugly blinker on the fender you don't have.

Yeah, here we have an amber reflector integrated into our corner lights. Once I got some money up, I'd be willing to buy a set of those Euro corners, lol.

Since you have the fender light, do you have the side light in the corner? So, theres the headlight bucket, and the little parking light next to it, but do you have a light on the side of the corner, too?

    No, its just decoration plastic.
I like the white front bumper light with a small blinker inside, which i see on some cars. Is it with 2 lights? 1 for blinker and 1 for parking light?
Like to have some more light in de front to be visible when driving around with pop up lights down.
Most people overhere drive around with lights on all the time, even with sunny weather. But thats not a Euro thing. Was on holiday in Spain and took a Volvo in which lights can not be turned off. I think a 1000 spanish blinked (if thats the right word) at me for having lights on during daytime.

^ Those lights are driving lights. The white ones are on whenever the car is on, I believe.

Yep, it is.. At least all Aerodecks have smoked corner lenses, but can't imagine sedans have something else.. I like the USDM corner lenses with the side markers in it too. Don't like the stupid round side marker we have as well!
