Results from last weekends autocross 9/11 and 9/12

Finally got to test out the new carbs to see how well they performed compared to the weber. I have to say those things absolutely scream at wide open throttle. They pull ridiculously hard out of the corners, and the float bowl issue from the weber isn't even a factor anymore. The dead spot I used to have with the weber between 2-3k is also gone. Overall I'm very happy with the way the car performs now, and I'll probably be leaving it this way for the rest of the season.

    Here's the results from Saturday

    And results from Sunday

First in class again both days as well as being the fastest fwd car in raw times.

What I really need to start doing is filming all of my runs. I think I'll build a camera bracket for my harness bar sometime, and start doing that.

How long have you been autocrossing? Fastest FWD and best in class has got to be more than the car in this case.

This is my second season autocrossing. I ran on street tires last year, so this is my first season with a proper suspension and tire setup.

4.343 and 3.621 off of FTD, that's pretty crazy.

I honestly have no idea how I went from being bottom of the pack consistently, to being at the top of the pack consistently. I guess this just shows what a good suspension and tire setup will do.

Tire and suspension will win you an autocross.

Had an overheating problem for the last few weeks that I finally figured out. Turns out it was a blown headgasket. So I guess this means I won both of those events with a blown headgasket. lol

Damn! Nice work man. I'm going to say the biggest improvement comes from the driver. Then tires. Then suspension. But maybe that's just me. :P

Agreed on the driver mod. I'm honestly not sure how great of a driver I am since I never have in car video to watch afterwards, but I have noticed that "smooth" seems to be the most used word to describe my driving style. I really concentrated on driving smooth when I first started, so that I wouldn't start any bad habits. The only bad thing is that it's gotten me into the habit of not driving as aggressively as I probably could. I can sense that with a bit more horsepower and some more practice as a driver I could get into the top 10 in pax.

TLDR: For anyone just starting out. Learn to drive smooth before you try to drive fast. Smooth = fast.

Awesome work, Ill tell you a simple method for building a camera mount. Take a square metal bar, and drill two hole (spaced out to fit the rods of the front seat headrest into them). That will be the brace, just put the metal between the seat, and the head. Mounting the camera to the metal bar can be elaborate or not. One hole with a nut and bolt for the camera, or take apart a tripod and mount that to the pole.

Yeah. A lot of guys here do that to mount their cameras. That won't work for me though. I'm running Corbeau FX1 pro seats, so no headrest. I'll just build something to mount too the harness bar. Should be fairly easy I should think
