About to pull the trigger on a 89 Accord DX Coupe.

hello everyone, i just wanted to see if anybody on this site has a 89 accord dx coupe? if so can you give me some reviews and if this car is reliable?

im looking into purchasing a 89 accord coupe DX with 104,xxx miles on the clock and hes asking $1100. Now i need a winter car b/c winters here are rough so i decided this car was descent and i like the body style.

i currently own a 04 G35 coupe and its RWD and it sucked in the snow even with winter tires lol. so i need a FWD car.

heres a pic of my G35

heres a few pics of the honda im looking at.

now you guys think this would be a nice winter/daily car?

Price vs. mileage, I'd get it. It's not bad looking at all. I'd say the only downside is the rust. I'd deal with a carb'd auto for that mileage. Get it, remove floormats, seat covers, steering wheel cover and Thor sticker. Done.

sorry, accords are rwd, you can not use it as a winter beater

srs though, if it runs smoothly and drives smoothly and doesnt make any weird noises or pulls and such, it should make a good beater car. just make sure the rust isnt in structual areas where it will probably fall apart when it rusts more lol

Depends if you're doing the job or which shop does the work.
    All shops have different rates.

With 104xx miles, this car should be reliable. Remember that this is a 21 years old car tough... SOME parts will be worn from time/weather and not from use.

The only thing I'm worried about is the extent of the rust. I've never had to really deal with it being in the Pacific Northwest, but that car may be worse than it looks.

damn the seller dropped the price to $800 now lol, that rust is just bothering me.

oh and the seller also stated that the windshield wiper fluid keeps leaking. is that a easy fix? does anyone know where i can get a new windshield wiper fluid tank or whatever its called?

^ Make sure it's leaking, and the guy isn't being a dumbass like me and overflowing it every time.

You can get one at a junkyard, but the bumper cover has to come off to replace it.

    GET IT.

You don't need to at all. Rain-X and Bosch windshield wipers.

I don't think this car will pass PA state inspection bc of the rust hole on the rear drivers side

Why do you need the state inspection?

PA requires Emission/visual tests every year i believe. and i think if a car has rust its okie but if a car has rust going threw the body i would fail. this honda has rust hole on the drivers side rear quater
