Need to borrow a Factory Service Manual

I'm looking for someone willing to loan me a Honda Service Manual for an '86 or '87 Accord. It must be the Honda manual from helminc.com and not a Chilton or Haynes or anything else. USDM is greatly preferred so we can cover California smog stuff. I want to scan it to *.pdf so the people who can't afford the one from helminc will still be able to track down problems and know how to fix their cars properly. I've already scanned my '89 manual (complete with my hand-written notes ) which 2ndGenGuy has been hosting for download here:

    http://honda.roadpwnage.com/manuals/...-1989-full.php

It's been a real help for the guys with '88s and '89s, but those with '86s and '87s are not so lucky.

If someone is willing to loan me their shop manual, I will scan it and we can post it for download as well. Please know that the scanning will involve me tearing every page out of the bound manual so it will sheet feed through the scanner. I will return it to you in a three ring binder. I do this with all my manuals because they lay open on the car much better in a three ring binder than when bound.

If you are willing, drop me a PM. You'll be doing the 3g community a great service.

2ndGenGuy is also sending me an '84 manual for scanning and posting, so we'll have that available before too much longer.

    Thanks!

the pauldesign site never really had USDM manuals anyway. And dealing with the supplements got kind of annoying.

If you're in a scanning frame of mind, I have the '89 Electrical Troubleshooting manual. Nice big schematics of each system, plus in some cases step-by-step instructions.

Those manuals have definitely filled a need, but are Russian manuals. If you get an EGR problem in California, you're out of luck, unfortunately.

@W261W261, I'm sending you a PM right now.

I think he said he was going to hole punch everything and put it in a nice binder, then return it

Re: Need to borrow a Factory Service Manual

I just got laid off today and seeing that I was planning to use the copier at work to do the scanning, I might have to table this project. I'm leaving on good terms, so maybe they'll let me use it anyway. I'll have to see.

W261W261, I'll see that you get your manual back either way.

    Sorry everyone.

Re: Need to borrow a Factory Service Manual

ETM is scanned. Just in case anyone was wondering, here is what I'll be sending back.

This manual will lay open flat on the car and be much easier to read than a bound manual. I do all my manuals this way.

I'm working with 2ndGenGuy right now to get the manual hosted and a link posted. Stay tuned for more.

    Thanks again W261W261!
