At the very cheapest you could probably get a running one for 200-300 € (my A16A was 230€), but it will probably not be that pretty. Of course that's up here in Finland, and I don't know how common these are in the UK.

Why not buy an Aerodeck and ship it to the US while you're at it?

Well if you've got some "spare" money (enough to buy a 3gee, your vacation and the shipment back to the US)
you might wanna consider to buy an Aerodeck, since it seems like a lot people in your country want one!
Maybe you could even make some money!

If I had a proper place to store it and work on it I might've already bought it. It's only 150 km away from me...

My biggest hurdle will probably be storage until I can afford to ship the car. Definitely won't have the money to ship at that time. Wouldn't have the money until probably the following February. Another hurdle would be to find a seller willing to bring it to Heathrow Intl. If I'm buying a car while on vacation, don't want to rent one to go pick it up. Guess I have 8 months to get it figured out.

I would love to help you out, but all tho we live in europe, I can make my way to the Germany, but for me to go to UK would require a visa, that can be expensive and time consuming.

A visa for the UK? Why that? We just drive the car on train or boat and go there.

Don't want to be a killjoy, but don't think your allowed to drive a car you buy in Europe, don't know how it is in England, but in germany the licence plates remain with the owner, and not with the car. To get insurance is not possible.

If I'm in the Balkans next summer, I would fly to Germany just attend the meet up, or fly to Netherlands and hitch a ride with one of our fine Dutch members ...but I need to steal a Scirocco or an Alpha GTV6...Needs more 80's Euro cars.

You can ride with me, if you like.

Don't steal the Alfa! Looks nice, but it wil brakedown after the first mile.

Yes I want to ride in a Aerodeck... My friend back on FL got a GTV6 and said it was a pain for maintenance.

Re: >>>Epic Euro meet, Nürburgring July 2011

Hei guys. I have bad news here. There is a big chance that I want make it this year, sorry, I really wanted to come but my car failed DOT inspection and I dont have think I can fix all of the faults untill this meet.
Mainly structural rust that need to be welded, and full susp. overhaul. Rust in the brake lines, those need to be bent and fited and my engine not as fresh as I would like it to be. Idk I need a miracke here to pull this all of if I would still make it. I can weld and do the rest but I dont have a welding machine nor a place to do it.
Anyway, this was a rough winter for me, I had hoped to fix my car but there was one thing after another for me.

I guess so... I hope something like this will ever happen, although I know I haven't been very initiative (too) due to a lack of "spare" time.
