Fast idle and fuel econ with Weber

What is fast idle supposed to be on the carb cars? Is it supposed to be as high as 2,500 rpm? Or is it more around 2,000?

Also, does fuel economy change with the Weber carbs? Does it get better or worse?

I used to have my idle set around 900 rpm's after the car warmed up. Got a bit better gas mileage too. I get horrid gas mileage now with the cam, but your gas mileage will get a bit better as long as you keep your foot out of it.

If you don't mind losing a bit of power you might consider a 34/34 weber. It's a smaller carb that will net some better gas milage.

I'm honestly not sure what the fast idle is supposed to be on the stock carb. My guess is around 2000. 2500 probably isn't that bad though as long as it idles normally after it's warmed up.
