    coilovers

ive been on ebay looking for coilovers and they have alot and they are pretty cheap. but they say they are compatible with our accords, the cb7s, and 94-97 accords. so one main question i had was if i order them would i have to make any drastic mods to make it fit?

This info is in the sticky.

You'll be able to fit them on your stock shocks, but you really need much stiffer shocks to handle the spring rate and the shorter suspension stroke.

If he is checking ebay, I would imagine he is looking for the cheap slip on coilovers. Not the full body coilovers.

    Re: coilovers

yup definitly looking for the cheapest solution which i think i found.
instead of using stock struts im thinking about using tokico struts for 220 for the set or gabriel struts with the 80 dollars coilovers on ebay which would total out around250-300 after shipping and everything. do you think it would work?

    Re: coilovers

I think the Tokico Blues would be a better shock to use, but they cost about 100 bucks more than the Gabriels. Its really up to you. Just remember you get what you pay for.

    Re: coilovers

You will more than likely regret that decision. I would bet the ebay coilovers will be very bouncy and harsh to ride on. If your going to use a sleeve coilover i would get the ground controls. If you can't afford them then go with a decent spring for sure.

yea i know but the ride is already horrible and the car i unevenly set so id rather have a smoother crappy ride that looks good than one that loooks horrible and feels worse...

    Re: coilovers

If your ride is horrible now, why not replace your current shocks with some decent replacements and just leave well enough alone? Those coilovers have much too high of a spring rate to be handled by anything lower than Konis or revalved Bilstiens. There's a reason we say not to do things.

In the end, coilovers are coilovers. Ground Controls work well because they tested spring rates out and supply springs matched to the car. The eBay coilovers will work alright, but they tend to be quite a bit too stiff.

Don't spend extra money to ruin your car.

    Re: coilovers

thats not a bad idea either. but as far as springs go im lookng at dropzones which cost 129 per set but if anyone has any suggestions on a good brand that affordable(100- 200) then throw it to me and ill look into it.

    Re: coilovers

I may sell my H&R's and Koni's but not until i put on my Ksport's to make sure they are what i want. I would consider selling just the H&R's since if these don't work out i was going to use my Koni's and get Ground Controls.

    Re: coilovers

BTW those are the H&R's in my sig and pretty much all of the pictures you will find of my red coupe. Keep in mind i swapped to a JDM B20A which raised my front end up since its a aluminum block rather than the cast iron A20A blocks. So some pictures it may look higher in the front but i liked the H&R's stance with 17" rims.

    Re: coilovers

so just to be clear the coilovers from a 1990-93 would be compatible right? ive actually looked around a little more and found some skunk2 coilovers for 270 and i admire the skunk2 brand alot.

    Re: coilovers

Skunk2 aren't that great. They're not tested on-car like the Ground Controls, and are way too stiff for a street driven car.

I'm still trying to grasp why you want to put poorly matched springs on a car without enough damper when one of your issues is poor ride.

If you want good sleeve coilovers, you buy these http://www.ground-control-store.com/...p/II=513/CA=70

If you want a decent ride, you're either sticking with a very mild drop and using Tokicos or you're revalving Bilstiens.

Thank you very much! I can sort of hear the final i on chiisai, though it's very faint. Having the romaji makes memorizing so much easier.
