My son has a 88 Accord DX and the 5th gear whined then he completely lost it. It ran fine in all other gears. Is it likely to replace just 5TH gear or is their likely metal crud throughout the tranny?
We located one in a boneyard for $150 but the labor is on us.
i would replace the 5th gear and flush the trans a few times
