    Problem in 2nd gear

Saw the post about some dude having problems getting into 5th gear, and i just remembered, my second gear has been acting up, and its pissing me off.

I'll be driving along, go to down shift into second, and it'll do that horrible *grind* *clunk* sound. And if im shifting up fast, i may as well just double clutch it, and go from First to third, cuz it does the same thing.

the clutch is original, has 204,965kms on it (put 1000kms in the first month of me having it, thats why i know :P )

Time for a new clutch, or trans or both? my buddy has a trans from an 86 prelude that he'll give me if need be.

That tranny should work but, I'd check the fluid first? kinda fluid is in it?
might just be the throw out bearing. Does it shimmy went taking off?

sounds like a clutch adjustment would be a good place to start, it is not disenguaging enough possibly when you mash the pedal down

As long as it's from a Prelude SI (A20A3/A4) you'll be fine

    Re: Problem in 2nd gear

The final drive is different between the carbed Accord and the EFI Accord. The EFI motor has a shorter final drive, making the car a bit faster on takeoff.

yeah if its a carbed car the flywheel and clutch would have to be from the prelude since its a bit smaller
